@TC77, I have so much of mum's stuff still here nearly 5 years after she passed! One of my sisters live in the USA, been home a few times since but hasn't taken the things she claimed she wanted, so it's all adding to the junk in my house. There's been a big falling out - she on one side and me and my other sis on the other side - very messy family stuff and she won't contact us now. Having serious MH issues doesn't help, so little sis here says I have to give myself permission to get shut of it all! Some stuff is def only for the CS, bit for the tip, but a good chunk will be given to those who need it, or sold. Anything sold proceeds to our fave dementia charity.
I think it's a good thing to give away family trinkets to others whilst folks are living - saves arguments, and you can see others enjoying them now.

Excellent work Cheapskate 👏 You have ended the year on a high - so one Gold Star ⭐️ is on it’s way 🙂 Definitely a very good idea to make 2021 the Year of Cheapskate 🙂👏Perhaps the 13 & 11 year olds could take on a few chores - give you a chance to gather a few spoons 🙂 You would have thought with the state of the world today that your U.S. based Sis would have reached out ☹️ but I do agree with your little sis get rid of it all except maybe save a couple of small items for U.S. sis - mainly for your peace of mind 😉
Good work TC77 👏

Feeling very glum as I have to go home tomorrow after my Xmas break with support bubble. But I got here with a car full of presents and contributions to the eating and drinking which I won't be taking home so that's a bit of decluttering done. I've really enjoyed Xmas, we managed to get to Mass and did lots of walks to work off the lovely food. Not looking forward to getting back to a cold house and all the usual worries though.Magnolia Stellata10

Just whizzing in because I’m incredibly pleased with myself.
Will update properly later this week.
All my work stuff is now out of the dining room and has a proper home in my home office where it belongs. *insert jumpy up and down smiley here.*Admittedly you can no longer get down the hall for items waiting to be freegled/donated/binned and the dining rioom table has vanished under my food and cleaning items stockpile that now needs a new home, but I don’t care.Really pleased with how much I’ve decided it’s ok to get rid of.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.14 -
Decluttered the baking tins... two rusty loaf tins, three rusting cupcake tinsL some silly tiny tins all binned. Some paper tin liners all scrunched, binned. One flan tin waiting for a friend to collect. Everything else cleaned tidied and put back.
oven cleaned and decluttered of rather a lot of grime. It’s been a productive few days and my kitchen and bedroom are looking much tidier, even when I open drawers and cupboards
still avoiding decluttering the craft stuff though!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?8
