1. WRITE/USE DECLUTTERING & CLEANING “TO DO LISTS” - MINIMUM 30 MINUTE BURSTS OF ACTIVITY AT LEAST TWICE EVERY DAY2. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT3. I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO BE NICE TO EVERYONE & TRY TO SEE THE FUNNY OR PECULIAR SIDE TO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
4. JUST DO ONE THING (courtesy of bit_by_bit)Monday has been a rather dull day but dry. DH cleared a space in the garage over the last few days 👏 and has continued to declutter his office 👏In order to prepare myself for 2021 to be a more successful decluttering year 🤞 - several small tasks completed ✅
1. Dining room table cleared, extension leaf folded back, new tablecloth + moved back to its original position. Also wiped down the upholstered dining chairs ✅
2. Packaging/shopping bags/small boxes ‘corner’ emptied & sorted - air pockets packaging recycled & everything now neat & tidy ✅
3. Kitchen windowsill - removed the ‘picket fence’ herb garden, harvested the basil & chives (into pots, labelled & into freezer), emptied the 3 pots into the compost bin, washed pots & trays (now in shed), the wooden structure washed & out on patio, windowsill washed & dried ✅4. Started on fridge contents - bagged, labelled & froze the following: lo apple & blackberry crumble, lo gravies & finally the pork & beef mince (intended for an hm lasagne) divided into 2 mixed bags. All slotted neatly into freezers ✅ Took out lamb chops for tomorrow night’s dinner as DH is making cheesy pasta for tonight’s dinner 👏5. Found a notebook to write down decluttering/making/repurposing ideas ✅ - I often think of something & then forget almost immediately 😔
I now have three days to get this ‘new attitude’ ingrained 🤞

Been at the vets and emergency vets for the last two days so apologies for lack of updates. I think I'm pretty clear clutter wise. Home is a tip so left it all for tonight and will start afresh tomorrow.
List in my head is started :-)
1 parcel to go, 1 magazine to neighbour other than that plan is to start cleaning at the front door and work my way round the rooms. Plus one is cleaning the cars weather permitting.
Banking, bills, life admin and emails to be sent.
Was brilliant to catch up on all the last few days decluttering - amazing work.
Will remind self to join new thread

Last update for the year from me - will move over to the new thread after this
2601. book – CS
2602 – 2604. Xmas decs to CS
2605. Broken Xmas dec – binned
2606. 3 rolls of Xmas wrap used up, tubes recycled
2607. 2 empty long cardboard tubes from last year found in DS3’s room – now in recycling
2608. Several sheets of tissue paper reused on presents leaving the house
2609. Large gift box reused
2610. 2 lengths of ribbon reused
Nothing done over Xmas (except usual rubbish and recycling which I don't keep count of) I *think* I can see some progress from this year - hoping for more for next year
Hoping everyone has had a lovely Xmas and will have a peaceful NY. In the words of Lennon - 'Let's hope it's a good one'x

Hope all is ok on the animal front, moneyonmymindsam.
Whoever said decluttering was good for you lied. Had a terrible night’s sleep dreaming about bubble wrap, corrugated paper (both on the to go list) and assorted storage solutions. Pfft. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.10 -

I've made a decision to take a few days off work in a couple of weeks - I have a BIG birthday coming up (60!!!) & of course I won't be able to celebrate it as I'd hoped to, due to Covid, but I figured I deserve a few days off work even if I've nowhere to go.
930. Broken glass - not deliberate

A few more
1963-1969 more clothes recycled
1970 rugby scrum hat
1971-1972 bags of rubbish from DS2 room
1973 golf clubs to DS2 new house
1974 golf trolley
I have boxes and bags on the landing ready to be taken tomorrow.
It will be strange with no sons living here after tomorrow. May have to talk to DH!!9 -
Dog seems a little better so just given him his painkillers, is sleeping in a crate tonight. Poor boy is a very sorry looking sight.
I've tided properly. I didn't pass the magazine on yet but I posted the parcel.
Money shuffled and all accounted for.
Don't know about anyone else but I'm exhausted today and found it a funny old day.
Cooked small piece beef with veg plus anything else that needed using up, it was really delicious and just what we needed.
Picked up some more veg and cheese dated 1st Jan 2021 on YS so that's tomorrow sorted for me and probably egg and sausage for plus one
I have to eat up a tiramasu tonight but I don't think that will be a struggle lol
Tomorrow's jobs:
Just need to hoover. Desperate for the Xmas cards to go away/be recycled but plus one likes them (!) so I will just avoid eye contact with the congregation of cards for now.
Need to go through the wardrobe for a second clutter check.
Hope everyone is warm and well.

1 scarf to CS
4 books to CS
Pile of empty cereal bags being kept for freezing food now cleared out of breadbin
Christmas packaging to recycling rather than being kept for years.
1 magazine being kept for a friend.
So I think that brings me to 66 and so 66/365 means I am going to start with a total for next year of 300.
I know the maths are a bit out but the pile of packaging wasn't that big!
Been very busy with RL struggle to get bank accounts open asap and not much progress. Will post in the new year when I have figured out my decluttering priorities.
Hugs to everyone and hopes for a safe year.7
