Freecycled the coffee table from the end room, it was left by the last lodger but it made it hard to hoover in there so it's gone. Binned a pile of past it undies. I got loads of toiletries for prezzys so put those away in bathroom cupboard. Strange days these, am trying to be active and get stuff done but at a loose end really and it's so cold!Magnolia Stellata8

1. WRITE/USE DECLUTTERING & CLEANING “TO DO LISTS” - MINIMUM 30 MINUTE BURSTS OF ACTIVITY AT LEAST TWICE EVERY DAY2. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT3. I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO BE NICE TO EVERYONE & TRY TO SEE THE FUNNY OR PECULIAR SIDE TO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
4. JUST DO ONE THING (courtesy of bit_by_bit)
Tuesday was dry & cold. The small tasks for today: 1) Made turkey stock, picked out all the meat & composted the vegetables then DH & I made soup using roasted vegetables from the freezer, the stock & meat ✅ 2) Dealt with post immediately ✅ 3) Tidied one corner of the kitchen floor ✅ 4) Bagged & froze the last of the turkey & duck meat ✅
Not quite as productive as yesterday but still 😉 I will try harder for Wednesday 😉
Dinner was lamb steaks, mash, carrots, cabbage, peas & sprouts with bacon & chestnuts for DH & me.

Been working through a few admin and RL chores, and not counting until Jan 1st on new thread. Thanks to everyone as this thread has been a godsend to me over the last year, both in making progress in decluttering, but a routine and friendly messages, and interest in how everyone is getting on which has helped through these strange times. Special thanks for Mrs SD for all your cheer leading and I treasure my stars and medals
Hope to see you on the 2021 thread. Glad it has clean on the thread as on my chore list but with DD2 round haven't got to wash floors etc as sweeping all the time! x

I will reach my target today
1975 a bed
1976 a sofa
1977 an armchair
1978-1982 PlayStation and bits
1983-2003 some clothes
2004-2008 pairs of shoes
2009-2013 pillows and duvets
2014-2020 probably more various other bits that DS2 has taken with him. He has moved into his new house today and its house will seem very quiet without him and his brother who moved out about 6 weeks ago.
I have reached my target this year which is good.7 -
Final update for the room of doom that is now an office:One bin bag of rubbish.
A home found for the bags of bubble wrap and the past their best bits binned.Food and essentials stocks sorted, itemised and put in storage boxes out of the way. (Ideally these will go into the kitchen at some point but one step at a time)
Pictures hung up.
All work paperwork which was stuffed into bags has been sorted and has a place on the bookshelf.
3 bags of paper for recycling.Sewing stuff put away in the ottoman.
Shelves decluttered and tided so it now looks as if everything has a place. Presents box decluttered of items I can’t see me giving to any friends/family ready for the Chazza.
items leaving the house today - if they’re not claimed on freegle or good enough for the chazza they are going to the tip.
Coal scuttle.
Cash box.
silk scarf gone to parent.
2 laptop bags
phone case.
roll of corrugated paper
old toaster
faulty cd player
dvd blank discs x 5
3 photo boxes.
one large cardboard box and one large carrier bag full of assorted items that I can’t be bothered itemising.
Box of old batteries and lightbulbs for recycling.Bag of rags.
And breathe. That’s is for this year - another go at the kitchen is on the list but will save for the new thread.
With huge thanks to Mrs SD for the thread, the gold states and motivation - without you guys I really don’t think I’d have done it. So a whole houseful of gold stars winging their way in return.
Onwards and upwards.
Happy new year one and all.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.7 -

edit: Oh, realised I made an assumption that there would be a thread for next year! Is that the case? and if so, is there a link?
