Another Christmas Day bites the dust 😉 All in all a nice day - bitterly cold but no rain 👏
The 3 of us gave each other chocolate/biscuits. DSis received a lovely bracelet from her friend; some slipper socks & a carton of ciggies from DH & me; DSis gave me some lovely garden ornaments - 2 robins & a wood elf that you fix to a tree & it looks like it is peeking round the trunk & I got a shiny top from DH - I can dress up for New Year’s Eve 😉. DSis gave my DH a T-shirt - check list ‘Naughty, Nice, I Tried’ with the ‘I Tried’ box ticked 😉.
DH & I (but mostly DH 😛) then prepped all the vegetables - potatoes for mash & roasties, sweet potatoes for mash, sprouts (with bacon & chestnuts), cabbage, carrots, parsnips, leeks, peas. The meats were - turkey leg, turkey joint wrapped in bacon, duck breasts, venison fillets & pigs in blankets. I wrote the cooking schedule & gathered together all the pots, pans & roasting tins/trays & serving dishes + we finally used our new saucepans (bought 3 months ago 😉)
We cooked in stages - I LOVE my warming drawer 😍
Sat down to dinner at 6 p.m. - stuffed ourselves, quaffed Prosecco 🤤 & reminisced. (As an aside, we had the worst ever Christmas crackers from MrS ☹️)
By the way, we cooked enough food for a dozen people 😱 so bubble & squeak for at least the next 3 days 😉
DSis & I have a new favourite re TV viewing - Monkey Life filmed at Monkey World in Dorset. Currently watching Series 9 - absolutely fascinating 🧐
Hopefully you have all had as nice a Christmas as possible in the current circumstances.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas Day in spite of restrictions - ours was really nice - there was just me, DS & the cat and it was very chilled! Weather was lovely so we went out to the local donkey sanctuary to feed the donkeys (which has become a Christmas tradition for us) had lunch then I went for a long walk and listened to "A Christmas Carol" on audio book... Back for Chocolate log, Bramble Gin & a lovely movie... Nothing special happening today so might make a start on some tasks (or at least write the "to do list" )

General_Grant said:I'd like to join for 2020. I need to tidy up which means be better organised and disposing of some things will help. I'll only count items actually leaving the premises rather than those relocated within the house and out of sight. So I'll have an annual target of 120 items (average 10 per month).
Even counting any pair of shoes as two items doesn't get me anywhere near the target for potentially still useful items making their way out of the house. Then again, lots of plastic containers made it to recycling without being counted and they would have had the potential to be useful! (So I've adjusted the criteria a little.)6 -

Tackled some emails/ photos/saved scans and some bills so counting as 4 2495 -2499
Mrs SD - I've counted items in CS bag which I haven't taken - if I can find others things to replace these numbers can I count these when they go out in the new year - Tier 4 so could be some time? This will motivate me and next year will only count when actually items out of the house or the ether.
Hope everyone stays safe with the storm as well as Covid. Hoping for a kinder 2021 x
