DH & I had hm soup for lunch.Dinner was hm cottage pie. Shredded paper is quite good in compost bins as well 🙂Great work Happy_Kitties 👏 You can reach your target - 2 items a day for 7 days out of the 11 days left in 2020 🙂
stellata, using up a roll of paper counts as decluttering 👏 You have reminded me that I need to go through my glass jars - I might be able to recycle a few. Done - 4 recycled.Excellent work TC77 👏 I have joined you in Tier 4 (lockdown by any other name 😖) - about a third of England + Wales & Scotland & the joy of Br*x*t to come 😔 Your DD still has a few lessons to learn about decluttering 😉 - especially if you are also doing your bit towards saving the planet 😉 Lovely that you are managing to use some MK techniques 👏
Nice to see you leelad 👋 I always get a great sense of satisfaction completing small decluttering tasks. If enough are completed all of a sudden it looks like you have done a major declutter 🥳 Hope you enjoy your days off with your wife & daughter 🙂
garden_girl_2, What a lovely use of shredding ☺️Excellent work moneyonmymindsam 👏 You are motoring along 🙂

Morning all, one way I had of stopping myself buying particularly adding to collections or ornaments, is to ask where will I put it?
Do I need it? It's so easy in shops etc, to think that's pretty/unusual /right colour for my room, but when you get home it's where can I put it. I started with this on holidays, as I always bought a souvenir for the home , something we didn't sell here to remind me of the holiday. But as I de cluttered I realised, I have my memories and photos , I don't need the physical reminders. And photos are digital now /phew!! It took me an age to sort photos! ! 4 big black bags were thrown away.
So on hols I'd say where am I going to put this, this is something else I have to clean, and it worked for me.
House work is so much easier, I keep ornaments to a minimum and I can whizz round.
I've a busy week at work, hope everyone has a lovely Xmas, and a good decluttering new year.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.11 -
Evening, I have done very little decluttering. 3 parcels out this afternoon and associated packaging.
Cardboard box and usual kitchen recycling done. Possibly 3 more boxes to go but I seem to have this funny sense to hang on to them.
Tomorrow's jobs.....
Loads of presents needs sorting out as we seem to have incoming and outgoing now all in one pile in the wardrobe!
Seem to have a lot of these bag for life bags just going to keep 4 and give rest to CS.
Pile what's to sell/on ebay sale in one group.
Paperwork basket.
Medical cabinet.
Brought some leather cleaner online today so once minimised be nice to polish up what I have when it arrives.
Didn't know if to buy a radio times/TV mag this year so will think on that.

4. JUST DO ONE THING (courtesy of bit_by_bit)Monday was another mixed day - sky was quite clear most of the day so had high hopes of seeing the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction. However as the light faded the clouds came out, it rained & that was the end of my hopes ☹️Spotted Neighbour J ( he preferred the sharper hm tomato chutney) who was popping out to post a letter & I was very cheeky & asked him to post mine 😉 😛 I gave him his jar of chutney when he got back 🙂
Another lazy day for me - knitting, watched many episodes of Monkey Life with DSis.DH & I almost finished the hm soup - a little bit left as a starter for the next soup. DH made dinner - a delicious cheesy pasta + bbq spare ribs.2394 - 2396 Kitchen recycling, plastic bottle, drinks cans - Recycled

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about ornaments & holiday keepsakes 👏 May I ask how long it took you to sort your photos? Did you do it in stages or as one huge project? Have a lovely Christmas & I look forward to seeing you on the 2021 thread 😉

I sorted photos over 3 days, it sounds brutal to throw away so many, but in the old days😂 photos were often blurry, had evil red eyes, people with heads chopped off ,etc. Which you didn't know until the photos were printed, then there was views of things which you can't remember what they are! It was still difficult particularly when digital came in and you took hundreds of photos trying to get the perfect one, thinking you would delete the others, but then not able to decide which was best so printing them all!!!!! Having said that as you sit weeding them out you do become more ruthless, ( or just fed up) and it got easier. I think now my older sisters are culling photos as I've had them send me some!😨 possibly my hardest category! They were all in albums apart from some 5 x 7 size, so I had to then rearrange and date the albums too!!!Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.11

@wort
That made me laugh thank you, brings back memories of the evil red eyehappened to the best of us
So looking around the place and asking myself just who starts decluttering this early? obviously not me as procrastinating. Will get the kettle on.

Gosh wort ,I'm so impressed with photos. I think I did days of it easier In the year but got as far as putting lose ones in envelopes by date and then deleting some on computer. This year new pc and anything I upload or scan it saves in one drive which is full and have to sort out what to keep. A fee precious pics in amongst a fee important documents and then pics of things Ive sold / f/cycled or complained about. I'll try and sort when off later this week. Well done .9

Out today the last cardboard box and packaging and also DH's booty slippers. I have finally talked him into binning the slippers as they were leaving a trail of rubber sole everywhereRecycling out for collection today including the shredded paper. Also out yesterday DD and family's xmas presents, in exchange for ours. I am now able to see more of the spare bedroom floor !I too have stopped buying ornaments and if I dither I think to myself "that'll be another thing to dust !" and I soon put it backStay safe and wellnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

I once accidentally broke a loved ornament and was upset for all of a minute, as then I realised it was one less thing to dust!I remember who gave us each ornament and object so that can sometimes make it more difficult to let go. Although it also helps if you have fallen out with people or don’t want to be reminded of them, then the object goes
We don’t fall out with many though.
Most of our ornaments are now in a bookshelf with glass doors to help reduce the dusting!
just deposited a bag of autumn/winter clothes at the charity shop. Had to visit three until I found one accepting, but they aren’t too far apart and it counts in my walking goals too!
now have just one bag of summer clothes in the bottom of the wardrobe, but will start another winter bag soon as well, since there’s a couple of cold months left. Hoping to be able to donate winter coats by March (if I can button up the smaller one of course!)working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?7
