Starting afresh.

Finally emptied the last of my big desk into boxes which are now littering up the little bedroom and driving me nuts. 3 sections of the desk now at OH's awaiting removal hopefully by a CS in January and the desktop still in my hallway due to being too heavy for us to lift at the moment (OH had a leg op this week so need to wait until he is fully recovered before we try to move it).
Also gone, 12 items paperwork, 2 video tapes and lots more of friend's paperwork. Using up slightly ood bottled water and other food items which I haven't counted.
Have done a review of my 2020 goals and will post this up soon, and when I've done that will post my 2021 word of the year and goals on the new thread.
Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅10 -
1 Christmas pudding for one 10 mths odd _ eaten by me , with a 9 mths one still to eat. DD sends us these each year and I " save" them. Must eat them sooner in 2021
1 book to CS
1 1960's op art plastic bag to bin as split down the side. I don't know why I kept it so long. That of course is the key message of clutter.
1 tube of hand cream too rancid to use, to bin.
I pile of odd otc tablets.
Total = 5=63/365.
I need to work out what my decluttering priorities are for next year. I've signed up for Mission Declutter and Clean, but I need a focus. Mrs SD , when you went to the wardrobe and only found a belt to declutter - that is some achievement. At the moment I'm thinking of a brocante/ boot sale to get rid of ornaments and other stuff. I also need to bite the bullet with my collection of French linen vintage sheets. I started buying them when we first came on holiday to France about 25 years ago and never paid more that a pound for them. If course I gave some away, used one or two that were the right size but the rest are taking up space and neither child wants them. So I think I will start a list of things to try to sell. The key word being try. And to stop buying clutter in charity shops that I think I might be able to sell!

retired in france - I know that holding on to collection. I collect coloured glass, and had alot of mid / early 20th century jugs/glasses and bowls . I've managed to let quite alot go and it's quite liberating, but can find myself looking in CS for more but have resisted. Have other collections to tackle.
2411 - 12 batteries recycled
2413- 14 small items from DD2 room, and 15- 16 number of small bits when I hoovered her room.
2417 - 18 emails deleted and subscriptions cancelled.

Receipts out and shreddar bin now has a bit in to shred. Unexpected sale of a houseplant today, lady who bought a couple in the summer popped up on f bk and asked if i had any left. Few more pennies in the pot, well into paypal, until i decide what to do with it. Bit of back garden replanted where a big shrub was taken out, plus bulbs. Now just to replant the plants in front garden where the water leak was, got to get some mojo back to do that, at the mo just cant be bothered.....
Decluttered a lot of emails and spam today.
Will join the 2021 page. Prob wont count, but still have 3rd bedroom to sort, shed and garage too.
Stay safe everyone, getting really scary now with 2nd variant going round and easier to catch.x9 -

4. JUST DO ONE THING (courtesy of bit_by_bit)
Saturday was a bright sunny morning 🙂 followed by a dark, very wet afternoon ☹️DH spent some time removing larger branches from the raised bed & sawing or shredding them. Refilled bird & squirrel feeders. Hm soup for lunch.Day off for me - just cleared down programmes from planner & lots of knitting. DB phoned - very chatty. Short chat to a neighbour who gave me XMas card & a box of lebkuchen 🙂👏 Dinner was pork steaks, boiled potatoes, sweetcorn & garden peas.
DSis & I watched the final of SCD - needless to say we were ecstatic when the winner was announced 🥳 Especially after our t*ssp*t leader announced Tier 4 - why he didn’t just call it Lockdown I do not know 😡 + he basically cancelled Christmas.
2383 - 2384 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - Recycled
2385 Kitchen detritus - Binned
TC77, ashamed to say that I did smile at the ‘Tale of the Socks’ 🙂 Great work on the decluttering & you should be proud of yourself for resisting the temptation to restart collecting jugs/glasses & bowls 👏
Excellent work moneyonmymindsam 👏 decluttering items & cluttering money 😉👏
“Absolutely loving the minimalism around the home brings a sense of calm to a mind of chaos lol “ - that really made me grin 🤭
Good work villagelife 👏 No presents for us - Santa isn’t allowed to travel into Tier 4 😉
Very nice Nicnak 😇
Brilliant work oceanspirit 👏 Looking forward to reading your review of 2020 + your plans for 2021 🙂
Great work retiredinfrance 👏 We have ood Christmas puddings - never anything wrong with them 😉 Thanks for the compliment 👏 I must admit I hadn’t realised how well I had decluttered my wardrobe - a pleasant surprise but not helpful for my numbers 😉😉
Ooh French linen vintage sheets 🙂 If you can wait, I think short_bird has come up with a great solution.Great work bit_by_bit 👏 Not too much weight lifting off your shoulders - you might float away 😉
Great work garden_girl_2 👏 Your mojo will return 😉 probably stuck in the queue on the M20 😉😉
Although there is a 2nd variant which is easier to catch, I got the impression from a couple of the scientists that it would be weaker 🤞🤞

TC77, you are so right about collections and holding on to them. I am still adding to my blue glass collection and then about a year ago I spotted an old beer bottle and thought it would make a nice present for DH. Well, we now have six beer bottles, three Victorian English ones and three French ones. Wait for it now, ......and a modern blue glass beer bottle that I picked up from a cardboard box beside the bottle bank which now has Honesty seed sprays as an arrangement. A very MSE arrangement. Seriously though, I am cutting down on CS buys as a) they add to the clutter and b) it is an expensive habit when the weekly sums add up. Will investigate Short_Bird ' idea of selling to the UK. Thanks.
Nothing out today so far.
Stay safe everyone.8 -
Yesterday I shredded a lot of paperwork and now I have a full black bag ready to go out on Tuesday. Thank goodness for our bin men, they will take it in recycling as we're back in lockdownDecluttered the washing basket, 2 empty sauce bottles and a milk carton into the recycling. 2 wine flutes and 2 more mugs into the cs bag. Even the birds are helping to declutter as they've decimated the bird feeder againKeep safe all and happy decluttering.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9
