A small start, but you've got to start somewhere!
1. Refillable Christmas bauble-recycled
I've also started sorting a pile of new/used once items for Project Gambia Reverse Advent Appeal. (My friend is going out to the Gambia at Easter and so didn't have to hand these in before Christmas).0 -
Rather than tackle the loft as planned after work yesterday, I went for the easier option - the kids bedrooms :rotfl: Managed two bags to charity shops and another bag of rubbish 11/365. Kids were pleased too that I was helping to tidy their rooms for once. Win,win! :beer:0

52-53 calendars recycled.
Most of the day will now be spent in the garden.
Fingers crossed it stays dry.0 -
Radioles1408, you are off on the great decluttering journey :T
Makethedayscount - Well Done :T I Hope the kids will return the favour when it comes to decluttering your bedroom :rotfl:
Villagelife, fingers crossed 🤞 that it stays dry & sunny & warmish for your garden adventure
Now to my revised plansMantras worked for me in 2019, so updated mantras are being reinstated for 2020
1. DO NOT PUT OFF TO TOMORROW WHAT CAN/SHOULD BE DONE TODAY
2. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS”
3. LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
4. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
5. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
So please wish me luck

Another tip run, another cupboard, 3 tatty straw blind's, large cardboard boxes, part of a tree.

Morning Mrs SD and fellow declutterers, was up early this morning (usually the case, I am a morning person for sure). So I have started work (small steps) on doing some decluttering - one shelf of our living room & the paper basket and
I have done the maths and decluttering 2020 items over 366 days means 5.5 items to get rid off each day. So a small task each and every day I think is how I will tackle it this year. Attended a good number of car boot events last year (and will do so this year). and donated a few things to charity shops. But there is more to go. The attic requires more decluttering work and we still have a tendency to hoard things (as you will see below). My wife's MH is not good at present, so I'll have to start this year by working on my own with this along with support from our daughter. Her decluttering skills have improved somewhat over the last year :-) :-)
So here goes on what's been done so far: -
1. Peppa Pig electronic toy - will go to tip
2. Assorted birthday and anniversary cards going back a number of years - recycling
3. Old phone books - recycling
4. Old photo frame - charity shop
5. Pocket Cool air fan - will go to tip
6. Children's musical toy (not good quality) - will go to tip
7. Suction caps for stairgate - will go to tip
8. Old instruction manuals for stairgate for safety gate - will go to tip
9. Batteries - tip
10. Small kids electric toothbrush - will go to tip
11. Family organiser calendars (2013 - 2019) - that the scary one! Can't believe we still had them, my daughter will find any stickers and take them out, and then they will go to the tip.
12. Dairy calendar 2020 - we already have a 2020 calendar, so I have itemised this one so this will go to the tip straight away to avoid getting into bad habits :-) :-)
13. Children's sweet tube - tip
14. Hudl2 instruction box without - we don't have one of these anymore, so it needs to go to the tip
15. Pocket ear phones - tip
16. Readers digest nature video - charity
17. Large lollipop - not in very good condition - thrown away
18. Sheep decoration - thrown away
19. Unused Father's Day card - charity
20. Christmas cards (that is a later on today task, needs itemising on its own as that will be a team effort with our daughter) - tip
Hopefully a start in the right direction to give me some momentum in the coming weeks ahead.
Hoping to tackle some of the attic today and see if I can make sense of some of it.
Recycling (paper) has now been done and ready for collection.0 -
A clearout of the hall today and another bag of junk - 13/52.
I think I'm almost done with the 'rubbish' (I'm shocked that my house yielded 12 rubbish bags full of rubbish (and one small charity shop bag to date)), from now I expect that the bags will be smaller and destined for the charity shop.
Mind you, I haven't done the kitchen cupboards yet - expecting some fairly minging out-of-date stuff there!!!0
