I didn’t get around to checking the pantry, but I have just discovered ‘we buy books’ and put a few random Xmas books in that the kids don’t read anymore. Added a couple of DVDs and I made just over £20! I have never sold anything on those kind of sites before and will be little skeptical until the money is paid into my account, but if everything is OK then I will definitely be rummaging through the book shelves a bit more!
I have used them a few times and had no problems.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I have moved to this thread since leaving the 2019 one on Boxing Day, I have been away since so really not done any de-clutterring. We got back yesterday and already the house is a mess, so I am going to go and tidy up a bit.
I did drop a parcel of books off for WeBuyBooks earlier and also a bag to charity containing a few tops I don't wear, oddments of bedding and few bits n bobs.
I am really not motivated (to do very much actually) so starting with tidying up before thinking about permanent de-clutterring jobs.0 -
Hi everyone
May I be a late arrival to the party, I've only just found the thread ...
I'm hoping to declutter my DD and her DH into their new (to them) house soon ...
This will help me get my house back on track ...
Short Version:
Since my DH died I've struggled to sort through most of the dross paperwork etc.
Now DD is expecting too, I need to move on and forward ...C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z # 40 spanner supervisor. No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.Only after the last tree has been cut down. So glad I've stumbled upon this thread whilst Mrs SJ is watching a horror film. 2020 will be the year that I regain control of the house. Mrs SJ follows her dad with hoarding tendencies and I'm certain that DS1 is following. So my intention is to declutter something everyday for the year! A minimum of 366 items, and some collective ones. The main areas for attach are the garage, broken/old/unused toys, DS1's room, my wardrobe and DS2's wardrobe. If I don't do it then it won't happen as Mrs SJ has no intention of partaking!
So far:
Day 1 - 2 Pairs of DS2 pants with holes in the knee, and 2 pairs of pj's!
Day 2 - Pink plastic dolls play house that grandparents bought from charity shop and dumped in our house!
Day 3 - Bag full of faulty christmas lights and old/broken decorations (not used for 2019).
Day 4 - Dolls head that you brush, put bobbles in etc... (another GP charity purpose), 2 broken toy dog leads that were being utilised as light sabers!
Tomorrow's intention is for old garden furniture to the tip and whatever else I can thrown in the car....MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -

I'm so sorry, it must be hard to remove things that have any memories xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -
7 pairs of pjs and three bras. The bras would make Bridget Jones' look New!
I can now close my drawer and wardrobe door.
That's 225 items, I think. I've counted a pair of pjs as a single rather than doubling up. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Two shelves tidied, and another bag of rubbish!

I've got some stuff piled to sort - the place now looks worse again! Will persevere though, know it's better really.0 -
[QUOTE=Great work dallam20 :T - 3 more bags :T
Re DD2’s room, definitely go for it with the proviso that she keeps it clean & tidy (even if she has to ask for your assistance :rotfl:) You could also suggest one in, one out
If only she would keep it clean and tidy !! I need to be feeling very brave to attempt her room so for now she can wait. On the plus side my older daughter has cleared out her room. I’m shocked 2 bags of clutter removed from house. My talk of clearing out is rubbing off :j0 -
Sign me up again, peeps.
I've already gotten started by sorting through books, nail varnishes and CDs.
