Got a message yesterday from DS - one of the other students in his apartment has tested positive for Covid so all 20 of them have to self-isolate. I guess it was inevitable that it would happen at some point & he sounded fine - apparently the boy who tested positive is well also.
ailz95 - hope your MIL feels better soon...

Sunday some sunshine but mainly a damp & dreary day. Hm soup & hm croutons for lunch. Los for dinner - 3 different lots thereby saving money on food. DH spent a bit of time in the garage - cleaned/rust proofed the screws from the 2 garden chairs & put Danish oil on the chairs prior to storage. DSis & I binge watched J*hn W*yn* movies. I decluttered half a ball of wool into a scarf.
Another no spend day - MSE police please take note.

915-916: 2 bags of rubbish, one more than usual.
917-919: Paper recycling, 2 bags as the result of emptying a folder and a box. (Box is part of a set of 4 so that stays.

921-930: greetings cards and a book to charity shop pile.
931-935: batches of email deleted over the week.
One thing I do to track my money saving is to take part in the No Spend Days challenge on the Debt Free Wannabe board: it's nearly time for the November challenge to begin but you can get an idea how it works from the current one - Outstanding October's NSD Challenge.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Attacked the rag pile today.
4 prs DH underpants
2 torn pillowcases
end of rags for recycling. I found two teatowels that need rehemmed so that will save some cash. They were in the ragpile along with ordinary towels that have gone in the middle. I am going to try to make the good bits into hand towels for the kitchen as small towels can be quite dear. More money saved.
1 blouse for charity shop. I looked at it and thought that I've at least four other blouses I'd wear before choosing this one, so off it goes.
Total 7 items =102/122

Monday has been dry but very chilly although I didn’t turn on the heating 🥳 Very MSE - I just moved around 😉 I finished knitting the scarf. Lunch was hm soup & hm croutons. DH went out foraging for wood (for the raised bed). I did 45 minutes of paperwork. Still quite a pile to do but am decluttering using the ‘eating the elephant’ method. Window cleaner turned up - apparently the guttering will need clearing again ☹️ But have saved money by waiting to have it cleared - very MSE of me 😉Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes.
