2020 - banish the clutter

Hope DH's nosebleeds were just a flash in the pan and he doesn't get anymore. Not a lot of decluttering - except for lots of money - done here. The new fridge/freezer arrived - it's huge, takes everything I want it to with room left over. The guys who delivered it brought it into the kitchen - they had to wait while DH dismantled the patio door so that it would go through. I measured the space for it, but not the door, oops.
About 12 months ago we asked our gardener's son to make us a sculpture for the garden - he's a blacksmith - and because of the lockdown he found the time to make it. Two birds - painted as magpies on branches of Ash. It looks really nice. Now that I've changed my diet to Whole Food, Plant Based - starch based - I'm not going to be fasting any more. I'm going to eat over a set period 9.30 until 5.30 and not eat after that.

Mrs_Salad_Dodger said:DH’s 4th nosebleed was an epic. It prompted him to phone 111 & get advice. Did the ice, pinching the nose etc, etc but it didn’t stop. The back garden has blood pools & if anybody saw it they would think there had been a murder 😱 90 minutes later it was still bleeding & a 2nd call to 111 was met with ‘you should get a taxi to A&E’ The benefit of living in London is that I only just had time to get DH a clean polo shirt & a carrier bag containing a towel, a couple of cans of ginger coke/cream soda, face masks & his wallet, before the taxi turned up. He arrived back about 5 hours later - having seen 8 NHS staff. He had blood taken, blood pressure (high) & nasal tampons inserted. for me.
Glad he was okay!

I had to throw out an LED flickering candle as I broke it last night.
I also got rid of more packaging into the recycling.2025 GOALS

No decluttering really.Am not meal planning so instead have created a use by/freeze by list to make sure I waste nothing. Much less brain power than menu planning and not sticking to it!
MrsSD OH has had his nose quarterised loads. Seems better the last time round though as the consultant at ENT said he was going to be really thorough and it’s been a few years since he has had more than a bit of “weeping”.
oh... just one more thing... I went to Happy Shopper to top up prepay gas and electric and it was better than co op (only two allowed in the shop at a time) and what’s more...
I got flour 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳
plain and self raising 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳
no bread flour though but never mind! And £2.49 a bag but that’s not a bad price for gold dust!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?12 -
My goodness Mrs SD it sounds like your DH has been through the mill. Hope he’s ok now. 😐😐😐Newlywed I like your use by plan - I operate an informal version but I think it would be more successful if I adopted your idea of a written list 😄Our skip is now almost full - the garden is almost completely clear of rubbish 😃
we are planning a family party as soon as we are able and safe to do so and this is the motivation for the clearance. We are both working from home so garden clearing is the reward for hours sat at the computer!
Stay safe everyone

749 compost put on the garden.
No more done. Not sure why10 -
Oooh, nosebleeds are so dramatic. I worked in ENT as a student and saw a lot of it. Are they going to look DHs blood pressure too?
Thanks Mrs SD for the encouragement I am not very good at sitting for a long time, bad for the back plus I feel I should be doing something. I am getting a nice shade of brown just by being outside though.
I have been moving some clutter around. Another bag of stuff to the garage and I have sold a few items online. I will count as a bag when I have sold a few more as it is only small stuff. Some of the them are from a bag of classical stuff that I bought for fiver from the CS because they don't sell classical stuff. I have made my money back so giving them a percentage. Its is a great feeling though. I have challenges going on with myself not only to clear and declutter but also to pay off my mortgage before I retire. This is the final push for the next 11 months or so.
Mentally any book that comes into the house, unless exceptional, is going straight out again, one way or another. I don't feel bad about newer stuff but I am having difficulty with older books. I think after the currrent bag of CDs it will be craft books. There. I have said it now.
