Been working so not much done, and also feeling tired but found v low in VItamin D so that should improve806 - emails to find out if lots of inherited china is worth selling. Answer no (could ebay but not worth much at all)- I like it so decided I will use and get rid of other crockery less keen on. Haven't used it as thought it may have some value and would then be cross/upset when broken.807 - 808 decorative tin and fountain pen.809 - old hair slides binned14

Weather on Tuesday was a rinse & repeat of Monday’s weather - gloriously sunny with clear blue skies 🙂 but a strong chilly wind 🙁 Need to break the habit of TV, AB2 & knitting ALL morning 😞 However today I made an apple & blackberries (frozen) crumble + used some of my precious bread flour & made a loaf (recipe was on the yeast tin) - fingers crossed 🤞 that it tastes as good as it looks 😉
DH went to MrS & managed to get everything on my list including flour 🥳 - as luck would have it, as he approached the empty shelves a shelf stacker turned up with a cage of All Purpose flour (Italian) so he grabbed 2 bags 🎉
DH & I had hm soup for lunch & very nice it was too 😋 DSis had toast & cheese.
DH spent an hour or so putting together the new chimenea 👏
Dinner was very simple - scrambled eggs on toast topped with bacon for DSis & smoked salmon for DH & I. DH & DSis had apple & blackberry crumble & custard for afters & I had the last portion of apple & hg rhubarb crumble with custard 🤤

It's very slow going at the mo - I have a pile of things to attempt to sell on fbook/ flebay/ CS if they don't sell, but obviously can't do that at the mo. However, I also appreciate that I've been doing this for a few years and my kids are older (eldest 22, youngest 10) so there just isn't the same amount of 'stuff' around any more. I also discovered Marie Kondo in 2015, so don't tend to have random new things coming in nowadays, either.

I have a cabinet of inherited china which would cost about £6000 to buy these days (item for item). I tried to sell it about 10 years ago and was offered around £200 so turned it down. We've moved with it twice and I think its about 100 pieces (coffee set, tea set, dinner set, lots of different bowls/side plates etc) plus its gold rimmed so you can't really dishwasher it - it isn't really day to day ware. You feel like you should get the ferrero roche out with it
I am going to try to fleabay it, but to be honest we might be better off taking it with us and breaking it up to sell. People don't really want a full set these days but they are still topping up their existing ones. I think the coffee pot and teapot sell for about £75 each. It might be a long term project. Seems sad to break it up, but if I sold it as one it someone else would probably do it and better the money in my pocket than someone elses.

Hi Supersaver1000 I stayed with an old school friend who uses her wedding china with gold rim everyday and she says no chips as not as easy to break as ceramic plates and the gold rim has been fine in dishwasher (but only 1990s). The plates of my 1910 china that I've used have faded abit but think I will still use - the tureen and serving dishes are immaculate but I may start using. Think if you don't like then sell (and was advised that people tend to only buy few pieces or small sets so breaking up good idea) but if you like then enjoy the pieces you can use.I will try and sort at the weekend. Good luck everyone.12

Thanks TC77, I think I will do some selling and then if anything remains I can use it and/or donate it, depending on what it is. Its that slightly guilty feeling but if I can make a bit (of money), use a bit and donate a bit I think we will have done our best for it. And I know my MIL wouldn't want us to hang onto it - after all she gave it to us for a reasonOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Thankyou Mrs SD. Definitely a lot happier. Part of it is that there is no pressure to go out of an evening at the moment. My hectic social life came to a full stop and I am not missing it. Something to think about. April is usually the time of year that I have my annual slow down anyway. Its a bit like delayed hibernation. I recharge my mental and physical batteries then I am ready to go again. Luckily the timing of the lockdown couldn't have been better.
I think having a sense of progress is also helping. Just getting stuff done, even if its a few minutes a day, feels good
So since last writing another bag of rubbish has gone from the garage and one from the garden. We made more beds out of the trees we decluttered earlier in the year and they are ready to plant up. We have had a final bonfire to clear the area at the end of the garden where the beds are and the trees are. I used some of the wood to build a second hedgehog house. I built the first one a few weeks ago. I was worried that all the disturbance on the ground would bother a nesting pair of blue tits but they don't seem too bothered.
I went to the bank yesterday and did a few phone calls both of which will move a few more things on for my Sister's estate.
Enjoying the sunshine, shame I am in work tomorrorow. Its will be light enough for me to go to the allotment after so no worries.

Wednesday was another gloriously sunny day but that chill wind 🙁 DH & I spent some time in the garden - separating out seedlings, potting up seeds - not sure how much success we will have as most of the seeds are well over 10 years old 😞 & DH put up the frame & net over the raised bed. More TV, knitting, AB2 & started reading the first book in The Shipyard Girls series. DH & I used my hm bread for sandwiches - very tasty & cuts well. DH made one of his best ever cheesy pastas & bonus 👏 he did the washing up 🙂

Excellent work greent 👏
I think part of the problem supersaver1000 is that people just do not have the space for a full dinner service or a large enough table to set it up 🙁 Definitely agree with TC77 that breaking the set apart is the best way to earn some money, with the added bonus that you could keep a couple of items & use daily.Great work Gem-gem 👏 - please don’t sell yourself short - 2 major tasks decluttered 👏
You have been busy bit_by_bit 👏 I am assuming the added bonus of not being able to be a social butterfly is that you are saving money 😉 Meanwhile, I am still awaiting the opportunity to give you a gold star - shouldn’t your number of bags have gone up 😉 14/52 perhaps?BE KIND. Not much decluttering being done here, but I did get a large bag of pieces of our old caravan cover in the bin, which has now been emptied so that's the last of the cover gone. DH is still working his way through sorting the shed and has 2 bags ready for the tip. I am working my way through decluttering books (reading) on my Paperwhite, could take a while as I have rather a lot. I need to read some "real" books too, but I will have nowhere to put them until the cs start collecting again. I had a baking day yesterday and tut, tut, cluttered up my fridge and cupboards, but we will enjoy decluttering themTake care, stay safe.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12
