Welcome aboard the Declutter Bandwagon, Doll207cc :hello: You have absolutely no reason to apologise - quite often writing it down can be the clarification you need & gives you the impetus to start
Clutter is a strange & powerful thing
even when it is hidden it can weigh you down.
Can I ask how you think you will sell items? Fleabay, G00gleMarketplace or carboot? Once you have made the decision, if you are selling on-line just grab any 10 items, photograph & post. Give yourself a time limit for sales. Anything unsold put into a bag & donate to a charity shop ASAP. Then grab your next 10 items, rinse & repeat. Save any monies for a treat for you & your son. This is really important - DO NOT SORT - just grab :rotfl: The thing is you are obviously a successful declutterer as shown by the rest of your home being minimalistic :T So I know you can do it - you just need to believe in yourself
Welcome back dollypeeps :hello: I am sending your oomph by registered post :rotfl: 2020 is your yearYou will be successful :T
Thank you for that mark88man :T I have to say I never really look at my MSE :money: stats :rotfl: The cheerleading serves a dual purpose - I love to encourage our fellow declutterers & their posts incentivise me to do betterYou are doing really well & getting DS2 on board is a major win :T. At least 2 happy people in your home :rotfl:
Well Done greenbee:T not letting new clutter get a foothold :T

Newlywed - I will bet it was more out than in
Great work Guineapigsqueaks :T Always a pleasure to reduce a paperwork mountain & I do so love shredding :rotfl: That is super organised on the presents frontI need to start buying & writing birthday cards for the year - I start in January with Feb, March & April’s birthdays then in February I sort May, June & July & so on. I write the posting date in the place where the stamp will be stuck.
A well planned out 2020, Bexster1975. You are ‘visualising’ your life & I read somewhere that visualisation is half the battle. You are setting yourself up for a successful declutter & we are all here to encourage you - so we can take some of the credit when you succeed :rotfl:
Well Done stellata :T A flying start & I quite like your method of counting
A great days work hazzie123 :T Definitely a good start with your husbandnext step is to get him to sell the items & treat you to something nice :rotfl:
Welcome flyingmamma :hello: lovely to see youSorry to hear you are feeling so anxious but now you have joined us & set yourself a mini target to round off 2019 :T Can you get your children on board with decluttering & tidying their toys? It is never too early to train the next generation of declutterers :rotfl: Iam very impressed flyingmamma - an extremely productive hour :T I hope you gave yourself a reward :rotfl:
You are a braver person than me AW2011S :rotfl: You have also earned a Brownie Point for borrowing the book & not buying it - very :money:
These things are sent to try us in my welliesMusical chairs decluttering :rotfl: You will be able to get rid of quite a lot I reckon with all that moving about
Please remember to reward yourself at each stage of the rearranging
My 2020 decluttering will not start until Friday 3rd January & I still haven’t worked out where I will startI told you all that even those of us who have been decluttering for a while still get stumped by where to start :rotfl:

First bit of decluttering done yesterday. Dragged everything out of two of the kitchen cupboards (some of which hasn’t moved since we moved in 5 years ago), and now I have two full bags of miscellaneous kitchen stuff to go to the CS! Also made a start on my clothes/shoes and managed a couple of bags there. Trying to get as much done as I can before I go back to work on Thursday.
Onwards and upwards! :jEvery act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

Freecycled (freegled!) my first few things today - sadly all the cat carriers and paraphernalia of my poor departed fluffballs. We won't be replacing soon as next year is so busy it wouldn't be fair
Other freecycle leads looking good for some more, including two near to death bicycles from the kids younger years.
Still only counting 3/50 on the tip runs - the above are all side hustles - maybe a day off today although its nice out so may reconsiderI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I'm in, if I may. I read every post last year but didn't post much. I'm gong to try and post more this year.
This year I'm determined to finish a cross stitch called Proton - picked by hubby - 124 colours and 24 pages of charts. I've been doing it for 3.5 years :eek:and I'd like to see the back of it and get it framed. I have a tremor which means that some days (weeks) I can't do any.
I'm also going to try for 52/52 - this will be bags to the charity shop and 2020/2020 of 'stuff'. We need to sort the garage - DH was really chuffed to empty the loft, but he just put most of it into the garage. Need to do more in the house but difficult with MIL - she just tells us to wait 'until I've gone', but we came to live with her in 2013 as she was 'on her last legs'. :rotfl: She's 98 now.Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright0 -
It sounds like a lot of you are playing Furniture Tetris... :rotfl:
I'll be here tomorrow, I'm still posting on the 2019 thread.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

I've decided to go for 52 bags! So far I have the 6 from yesterday and added 2 more today of junk, plus one clothes for charity shop.
8/52 but I'm resisting any temptation to feel triumphant - I've started like this before and know that the 'easy pickings' are at the start, it's keeping going that's the tricky bit!0 -
1 Double quilt cover, non of us even have double quilts.
1 Double fitted sheet, don't even have a double bed, I assume I was saving these to use the material for other things but never did.
Eldest Daughter has put 2 coats in the Charity bag what no longer fit.
I have binned 4 empty jars, recycling box is full.
Last of the crap in the pantry, about 15 tins of stuff we don't eat, 1 packet of dried pasta, 1 packet of dried spaghetti, 1 jar of chocolate spread, 1 packet of sugary jelly. These will be taken to the food bank trolley in Asda on Thursday/Friday.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0 -

I'm also determined to finish tapestries I've started. One is called Harvest which I began in about 1980. All the stitching was finished before I married in '84, it just needs about a dozen beads to be sewn on. I will do it but it's so outdated - lovely 1970's brown. I still like it and will frame and hang it!
Then I can start on others my late DH bought me.
My mum came to live with me but is the opposite to your MIL. She likes her nice things around but has no sentimental attachment to anything - never has, so there is very little 'history' in any of her possessions. She is forever trying to sort out and throw away any of my things I leave out - the 2020 calendar from the Gardeners World mag has gone
Musical Chairs decluttering, I like that! Why does it always look worse - it's utter chaos her and with mum trying to help.........Love living in a village in the country side0 -
Loving freecycle (aka freegle) at the moment - got asked on the open chat room if I had any spare books, when that was exactly the next thing on my list to list.
so within a day 5 storage boxes of books are out the house, and no trip to the tip needed next weekend, unless I find some more stuff (and there is plenty)I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
