Bins colllected today and they took all the packaging that the new cooker came in.
  • Bins due here on Thursday, but all Christmas recycling/rubbish has fit in the bin so place is clean and no extra tip run needed.

Just a £10 top up shop needed here. Supermarket was very quiet which was pleasant. Collected a couple of sale parcels this morning. Only half a dozen bits, all consumables, needed or gifts for next year ( with the recipients already planned for). No other sales shopping for me, I'm planning a no buy Year in 2020. Only replacing worn out/used up bits, gifts and occasional experience treats ( couple of times a month e.g. Eating out etc). I'm looking forward to it. I'd like to save for a couple of holidays in 2020, work on my business expansion ( hence the spare room/office declutter), and finish a few decorating jobs here I have all the materials for. Hope everyone has a nice NYE planned, look forward to decluttering with you all into 2020.

Took all the leftover (unopened!) Xmas food to the food bank, at least 25 items, quite a big box. Also regifted a bottle of drink to a friend for her birthday, she doesn't mind, we often regift! So that was the bottle, a card out of the drawer, a gift bag. I'm counting in round numbers and underestimating, it saves time listing it all and I still keep track. I am going to do this !

Oh yes the Xmas recycling bin collection went and I stuffed a dozen folded down boxes in there on top of all the bottles!

2 Kids Car seats and a booster seat, bin bag of wrapping paper and a bin bag of christmas cards and other general paper rubbish taken to the tip yesterday. Also a kids ball pool which has been in the garage unused since 2013.

Husband boxed some Wii/playstation games into the loft which isn't decluttering as such but he won't part with them and I have gained a small space. So all good!

  • Can I join I’m feeling rather overwhelmed by toys and household chaos .... I know I have only myself to blame. I tried to keep toys to a minimum this year but my extended family bought loads of plastic toys and arts and crafts , slime factories! I am going to grab a bin bag fill it for the charity shop then a bag for recycling ... not sure why but the clutter is really starting to make me feel anxious . I’m aiming for 25 items before new year 2020!

  • Thanks for the huge Welcome! I've just finished reading Marie Kondo's "the life changing magic of tidying" which I borrowed from a friend so am currently going through my mountain of clothes strewn all over the house. Hope to be bagging quite a lot of it for the charity shop on the basis that it doesn't fit or I don't wear it or I will bin some older pieces if they have seen better days. Hope to then fit all my clothes into 1 wardrobe and drawers in my bedroom!

DS2 getting in on the act. He's got the hoarding/clutter gene as well, but we managed to get a couple of bin bags of stuff out of his room. Together with a little bit of bulky garden rubbish and the rest of DS1 stuff from upstairs we managed a third car load down the tip that's 3/50

Also as an additional challenge, I will use the council green recycling service diligently and aim for 25 full bins (its only every other week round our way). Currently 0/25 (I may have to check if it runs 52 weeks a year in it doesn't I will reduce the 25 but not the 100% Target)
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

  • Ten items of kids clothes , 20 items of bric and bric .... aka tat! I’m on a roll! I even trimmed the long fur around the dogs ears as they were looking unkept ! Recycle bin is full to bursting with Christmas paper and cards....have taken the decorations down .... want a clean clutter free home going into the new year! Amazing what you can achieve in an hour!
