Had a good day doing bits and generally tidying.
632 door mat has been thrown away. It was falling to bits and not much use!
633-659 old records left on neighbours doorstep for her son in law to collect when he dropped shopping off for her.
660 an empty DVD case thrown away. No idea where the DVD is!!
661 another load of shredding done.
House is looking tidier today and hopefully it will last.11 -
Thanks, I'm hoping not to hit that as I have no clutter at all, but I suspect some bits will start to emerge. DD will accumulate most of that. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.

Yay! all roots now decluttered. Unfortunately the debris is dotted around the garden but it's hidden from sight, so all's good in my eyes. I have down-cycled a T.shirt replacing one I've cut up for rags. There is a full bag ready for the cs but that's going nowhere fastKeep safe and well everyone.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10

Roxie, maybe you can do what I did with my husband? I picked 1 bag or box of items, and while he was watching tv, I held up each item and asked him what it was, what it belonged to, if we still needed it. Of the items he knew what it was and that we still needed it, I put them in their proper place, sometimes labelled them. The other items I properly disposed of. Any items left, I stored more neatly, and that created a lot of space. Now, about twice a year, I do the same, haphazardly, because if he thinks there is a system, he will dig his heels in the sand.

Roxie, what i do with my OH is quietly remove items i am convinced he doesnt need (due to being broken/inch of dust/receipts for a coffee like 22 years ago etc) and hide them for a month & at same time bin obvious rubbish like empty envelopes etc so it looks a little different - if he hasnt gone loking for it in that time, it gets binned - rinse and repeatIf you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, its just possible you haven't grasped the situation10

241-242: 2 TV series watched but they're keepers
243: film watched and deleted
244- 245: load of vegetables and a tin of coconut milk transformed into several portions of mild curry and batch frozen.
246: Bag from the Porsche museum finally unpacked and contents rehomed, including a racing driver rubber duck now in a row with the rest of the rubber duckies. One day I will live somewhere with a bath rather than a shower...

Thanks for your tips 🙂Yes hubby’s mess is confined to one room and I do shut the door on it, but i don’t think he will ever have the lightbulb moment that makes him ‘want’ to declutter, or even notice the clutter that’s building up around him 🙄
I like the ideas of both randomly removing a few oddments of very obvious rubbish, and also asking him while distracted watching tv if he needs some specific item so I will give that a go from tomorrow 😁MFW 2021 No: 33 £45000/£45000 Mortgage free @ 11/6/21 🥳10 -
Thanks to the lock down I have managed to start scanning all of my old photos onto my hard drive currently 2/3 of way there only 12 Albums to go. All of the hard copies are being viewed by the family and if they want any they remove them and the rest are being burnt. That will be 3 boxes of clutter removed.9
