Thanks Mrs SD I shall pass the chocs around should I get too many !More logging today and lumberjacking if DH feels up to it, he has a swollen knee and I don't want to make it worse. Isolation for 12 weeks at least, is one thing, laid up with an injury too would be just too much. I may resort to going through the sock drawers which seem to be bursting at the seams again. ( I think they're breeding
)
Happy decluttering all, stay safe.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Well not much will be leaving the house here for a few weeks I guess! In the spirit of the no more toiletries thread I will declare some "IN's" from Sunday - we popped to the charity shop for a pile of books and some DVD's "in case lockdown did come" - VERY glad we did now too - a lack of reading material, as daft as this sounds, spikes my anxiety massively, so having a nice pile of things to read sitting there has really helped that. I also do have some books on the shelves here that I want to re-read to decide whether to keep or not, so that is something else to add to my list of things to do.
As usual we will be setting anything for the CS into a bag ready to go when it can. Books etc I will pop onto the window sill outside as neighbours might want to have a read, same with DVD's we decide we're not keeping probably. I'm also going to use more time indoors to really take stock of anything that we have, but possibly no longer want, or use. Although they might not be able to leave immediately, they can certainly be set aside ready to go once charity shops etc re-open.
Very much trying to see opportunity where I can - working from home is a challenge - technically that is what I'm doing right now - except that there is currently nothing for me to do as I'm waiting for jobs to come through, hence being on here! I am going to start thinking about using up oddments of food that have been in the larder or storecupboard for a while though - last night the last of a bag of paella rice was decluttered! Also trying to focus on conscious movement, drinking lots of water - all the sort of small habits that it would be easy to let fall by the wayside.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

3. LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
4. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
5. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S?I am amending/updating my mantras until Covid19 is done & dusted 🙂 So here goes
1. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS” - MINIMUM 30 MINUTE BURSTS OF ACTIVITY AT LEAST TWICE EVERY DAY
2. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT3. I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO BE NICE TO EVERYONE & TRY TO SEE THE FUNNY OR PECULIAR SIDE TO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
4. DAY TO DAY DECLUTTERING WILL CONTINUE
Another sunny day but again very chilly in the shade & a biting wind. Nice conversation with a neighbour - she & her 3 kids are bored out of their minds 😉 so much so that she was sweeping up the road in our close 🤣 DSis did her washing, mostly line dried but finished off in td, folded ready to take to her room. DH went to sm - managed to get everything apart from pasta & tomato based products 🙁 but joy of joys he got the last box of eggs 🥳
I cooked apples & some of last years rhubarb & will make the crumble tomorrow. Spent the day knitting, reading, playing AB2 & watching TV. Dinner was pork medallions in a mushroom & Marsala sauce with mashed potatoes & green beans for DSis. DH & I had parsnips & carrots mashed together & stir fried green mustard (a present from the neighbour’s allotment 👏) It was absolutely 🤤 The very small amount of lo veggies will be used for my next hm soup.645 - 647 Cardboard box, cardboard packaging, empty wine bottle - Recycled

Lovely to see you basketcase 😁 I am more than happy with chatty posts - it will help us all keep up with the decluttering 😉 especially decluttering of any stress associated with our new normal 🙂 I am greatly relieved that you are not a bunny bleacher or boiler 🤣

It's early days, but I think I've found something that helps my hands. They're dry at the best of times, but worse with all the over-and-above washing.COCONUT OIL, I had a OOD jar in the fridge that I kept meaning to throw out but thought it "might be useful for something you never knew". (I can say things like that here. It's my Safe Place...
) Tried it and they're not perfect, but noticeably less dry. It only takes the slightest smear.
Just as well I didn't declutter that, as it happened, but I've now updated my signature and added the 101 items I've managed to clear since the last update waaaayy back.Mrs SD - you may be glad I'm neither a bunny boiler or bleacher, but I bet you're not half as glad as the rabbit!A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Lovely all the support here to everyone. I uploaded some photos from a memory card from 2013 and also 2010 some of kids birthday parties in the house - wow how much less furniture and stuff I had. Very sobering and shocked . had realised recently that I'd be acquiring more since my mum died in 2010 and DD1 diagnosed with enduring mental health problems - usually CS finds but have 3 teapots, more dishes, also lots of paperwork from court stuff with ex/ health but also clothe and the lbs acquired (again shocked by photos). However, in light of current crisis I am determined that I will set things aside for CS to give me more time to do other things (for family and others) and get myself sorted. Working at home (NHS not frontline) but have leave to take.Just heard good news that rough sleepers are to be housed by the weekend ... again how fortunate am I.597 - last layer of danish oil on kitchen units598- 600 cleared top of chest of drawers in dining room, waxed, old polish binned, and things sorted, binned/recycled and rehomed elsewhere in house.15
