546 - think pair of shoes I didn't count before which went to CS547 sorting out files on old computer but will take me days to sort but start made.have vermin scurrying in the floorboards - luckily not coming into rooms but really hoping I can declutter them soon! Made phone call to hasten their end.548 - 550 old food binned, and other old food from freezer and fridge used to make yummy risotto. Having to be abit creative as self isolation - only day 5 but may have to get friends to drop off fruit and veg during the week but have frozen fruit and tinned veggies.Still can't find my seeds and bulbs! hoping they will appear at some point this week...11

1. DO NOT PUT OFF TO TOMORROW WHAT CAN/SHOULD BE DONE TODAY2. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS” - MINIMUM 10 MINUTE BURSTS OF ACTIVITY UNTIL THE DECLUTTERING MOJO RETURNS (Thanks oceanspirit 👏)
3. LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
4. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
5. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S?
The beef was slow cooked for 7 hours 😱 but it was absolutely delicious 🤤 with mashed potato & frozen green beans.
Sunday was another bright & sunny day but again a bitter wind. However warm enough to do some work in the garden - strimming, tidying & setting up 3 ‘tables’ for grow bags. We dismantled a plastic shelving unit to create the 3 tables 🙂
The rubbish & recycling was collected 🥳 so well done the council 👏
Hm Spicy Tomato soup for lunch & bf, mash & frozen garden peas for dinner. Small portion bagged & frozen as a base for the next soup.Half an hour ago I managed to catch the milkman & hand him a note requesting an extra 2L milk + 6 eggs per week. Apparently the dairy have had about 6,000 emails - no wonder ours got lost. Rather glad that I am an existing customer as we will get preferential treatment (especially if we are not being greedy 😆)
627 - 631 Plastic bottle, glass bottle, kitchen recycling, 2 newspapers - Recycled
632 - 634 Bag of garden detritus, 2 bags of kitchen detritus - Binned
Oh dear newlywed 🙁 Hopefully this week will be less stressful for you & if it is that counts as decluttering 😉 Please stay safe.I did 😂 at your comment about sausage rolls 🤣
Thanks nannywindow 👏 I don’t watch the news at all as I would burst blood vessels ranting at the ‘imbeciles’ both in government & the general public. You & I probably both need to keep our blood pressure down 🤣 Pole thingy is definitely the technical terminology 😉
Nicnak, please don’t worry about decluttering - you have more important things to do.
Wow, you were busy - that was a lot of decluttering on Sunday 👏
Well done villagelife 👏 and thank you & all those working in the NHS. Please take care.
TC77 please take care. If you are self isolating with a 15yr old I am not too sure that you will have much time for decluttering 😉 Hope you are having some good weather - may be able to rope in the 15yr old to help with the gardening 😁 Not to keen on the vermin - hope the phone call produces a quick response & solution 🤞 Seeds & bulbs don’t have a habit of disappearing 😬 so I will keep everything crossed 🤞 that you find them.
Sounds like you have things well in hand Gem-gem. A bit of everything & personal time built in. Hopefully the time will pass quite swiftly 🤞
Thanks ailz95 👏 very interesting. Hope you can see your cold off quickly 🤞
EnergyShifter - sunshine seems to make the world feel better 🙂 It may help to have a read of the 5 OS Pleasures thread - noticing the pleasures in your day really helps to keep a positive frame of mind. Congrats on ‘fixing’ your thermometer 👏 & well done on the decluttering 👏
Well done on staying positive savvy & keeping up with the decluttering 👏 Over 500 items out - a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way. I was sad to see that covid19 is impacting on absolutely everything from Mothers Day to Weddings ☹️No wonder you are frazzled short_bird - Covid19 is making everything difficult. I am crossing everything 🤞 that you can sort out a care home that both you & your mum will be happy with.Well done on the decluttering Michelleh 👏
😆 greenbee - religious knickers indeed 🤭
See you later & keep safe

I'm off to work today. I'm hoping parents listen and only send in if they absolutely have to, but knowing some of our parents, I doubt it.

On to day 2 of lumberjacking
Why did I think there was only one that needed to come down and that they are branches...... more like blummin great trees !! The first has been chopped up and now strewn around the garden hidden behind several bushes. The first didn't give up without a fight and it took 2 of us pulling on the rope before it finally gave up. I do hope the next one is a bit easier to bring down.
Take care all and stay safe.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -

Yeah it was diddficult not being with the sons for the first time in 31 years, absolutely gutted our favourite lunch place has closed down for good too
But they dropped things off to the doorstep for me, and we had fun on Messenger video chat, and mucked about with the filters! It was such a good laugh that it totally lifted my spirits!

Still haven't found seeds and bulbs but spent about 45 mins in the garden for my lunchtime while working at home551-552 bag garden waste and broken small pot553 -555 took old tiles out of the shed and 2 thrown away and others wrapped with packaging from my supply and labelled as spare for bathroom.556 glavanised metal bucket (I like but has been empty for ages) repurposed to accommodate cleaning products,557 another container repurposed.Still have empty boxes and piles of things to be matched.Realising the odd bag of spring onions, and fruit in the freezer will come in useful, Trying to work out if enough margarine to make crumble and if I can make something with the lentils that have been in the cupboard for ever,Keep safe x11

TC77 here is a great vegetarian recipe with red lentils.I made it for the first time last week using a butternut squash that I had grown last year. Also managed to freeze some to accompany another curry dish.
Worked from home today for nine hours so no work in the garden decluttering leaves or weeds. Tomorrow, going to work a shorter day 5 hours, so that hopefully hubby and I can do the shed out.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Hello MrsSD & fellow declutterers, somehow I have lost contact over the past couple of months with this site. Just re-registered again today and reset password. After last night's announcement, I'm looking at a period of a few weeks working from home, so will have even more time to declutter and catch up. Attic is looking the best it's been for the last two years I would say, all the stuff which our daughter has grown out of is in a big pile now, but a manageable one. Everywhere around it is tidy, been chipping away at this over the past month (shredding, taking stuff to the tip, throwing stuff away). Need to sort out all the finance papers and stuff and get some order back with e-mails and that. With all that's going on, I am finding some focus on these tasks. There's definitely a lot more to do around the house. My wife is currently out of a job at the moment (long story), she's looking to get back into the health service, but her mental health is not great at the moment. Anyway, pleased that I have been able to get back onto this site (again, I'm not sure why I moved away from it but it's good to be back). Will explore the site as well. Stay safe, and will try to keep in touch more often :-)11

Hi leelad! Welcome. Sorry to hear your wife's for problems. My DD had/has anxiety and depression. She's mostly on top of it, but the next 3 months may be rough...Hi all! (Where's the old waving emoji when you need it?) Another one here back after a break. In my case for not-serious but time-consuming Real Life.I did carry on decluttering. (Sounds like a flim - actually, it feels like a film chez basketcase. The next in the series? Must think up a line better than my favourite "Infamy. Infamy. They've all got it infamy!")I'll post my (mostly February) totals later.I've had to stop going into work and am waiting to hear if I can actually carry on working from home, at least till this job's finished at the end of the month. Incidentally, why is the abbreviation for Working from Home WFM, not WFH?Hopefully, if I stay well, this next few weeks will see the flat improve out of all recognition. I do intend catching up on other things too, though. There are a couple of knitting projects with my name on them; think I'll get myself a sewing machine and 'make stuff'; I've always fancied learning Italian and German and brushing up on my French and Latin; there's Netflix, Amazon Prime and all our DVDs to watch, plus things like virtual tours of Museums etc.Not to mention all the extra cleaning and sanitising cos of the virus.
No, NO - I said not to mention it!!
What pants smilies these days. Come on MSE, we need the old ones back to cheer us up...
What are other people doing to while away the time? Maybe there should be a new thread. I know there's a Covid-19 support thread already. Being silly, I was thinking of a silly one - eg I've a couple of pictures I'd like to put in. Any idea how to do that btw?I'm rambling. I'll go...Stay safe and well all
