I've lost the plot with a lot of thing's the last 10 day's, between the wind, OH moaning about the wind and furry owner wanting to sleep with me I've not been sleeping well, but I have managed to declutter another 3 lb from me, about 300 e-mail's and now know what's in the freezer.

Meant to do this ages ago and then put it off and put it off - now I will declutter this post at last!Total for January was 307 items. January is always a good start to the year because there are easy declutters like recycling Christmas cards, usually some unwanted gifts to the charity shop, etc. A major and unexpected win this year happened when DH mislaid something really important (spare keys for a car he was trading in). Panic ensued! He turned several rooms upside down and I got a nice bag of mixed debris to sort - most went to CS or recycling and very little into landfill. He then found the keys so we were both happy! Now I have got that out of the way I can catch up with February which is also going well. We have decluttered our mug cupboard and I can't stop opening it, looking in and smiling!13

I'm afraid I've given up on filter cartridges @EssexHebridean as I never go anywhere that takes them anymore. Maybe when the garage is a bit emptier. Mind you, I plan on having a built-in filter when the kitchen is redone...
Stick them both in the car, then at least they'll be with you. I put the CS bag in the car yesterday, and the 1pt milk bottle that contains the batteries in my handbag, which focussed the mind!12 -

2 food items UU
1 metal item recycling
4 paper items recycling
3 items CS
I have started on the last box in the bedroom - I find its presence annoying now that the rest of the room is clear. Several items have been put with other similar items so that sensible decisions can be made when I get to them so not much from that box actually leaving my home yet.

Hi Everyone, may I join you please?
Today I decided we absolutely need to do away with some clutter. We moved to this bigger house from a tiny flat a few years ago and we are managing to fill it at an alarming rate! Not with good stuff either, just random stuff that get shoved in a bag or a drawer etc.
We do have a fair bit of stuff that we can sell on and hopefully make a little bit of cash, but I'll be using charity shops and such too.
Today I sold some video games that haven't been played since I bought them, made £30 which went in the bank and paid off a small debt, which felt nice and definitely spurred me on to keep going. I also completely decluttered my home office corner (a three drawer desk) and some other bits and managed to fill three small rubbish bags.
I'm hoping to get rid of a small amount of stuff each day, there's plenty to get through!
I'll try and pop in with updates, to chat and to learn from everyone hereDebt Free Journey started 21.05.201716 -
Hi all,So impressed by all the decluttering, and very inspiring especially when I see people managing to cope with those really difficult things which may not be many but keep us stuck. I still have lots of things that I know will be useful eventually (notepads and lined paper - DD2 doing GCSEs so will be used up but in different places, but trying to put together and not with instruction manuals which are on the top shelf in case needed!316 - instruction manual for installation of boiler (kept how to use manual)317 - other paper declutter318 - bag of things looked out for DD1 (mostly hers but sneaked in socks)Trying to declutter b/friend but struggling319 out of date food binned320 notepads and lined paper put togetherAlso going to declutter memory stick so easier to find important documents.13

I've been holding onto some skincare products even though I am allergic to them. Bit the bullet this morning and gave them away 8 items in total. = 1699. That's prob it for me for today. I have two boxes of books waiting for labels from the selling companies. I will update once they go. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Hi everyone, I haven't checked in for a while but we've been making good progress - although any visitors certainly wouldn't think so! Room of Doom 1 (back living room) has unfortunately reverted back after it's brief Christmas reprieve and the hallways are full of boxes to sort through.
But, R.O.D 2 is now a fully functioning craft room - with a floor and everything! :-D We put up a shelving system/pegboard on most of the walls, and the extra storage meant I didn't need to chuck out anywhere near is much as I thought I would. I've still got to finish organising the drawers/boxes etc, but for now everything has a place and both I and DH have our respective spaces. It's been a revelation to be able to sit and tinker with a couple of crafty ideas and even the kids have been in there to have a go at a couple of things, whereas before it was 'banned' as there was mountains of junk everywhere.
I'm still wondering whether I really do 'need' 4 sewing machines though...… :embarrassed:
It's half-term and after a busy couple days I've agreed to a lazy day, on the condition the kids will help me tackle the several boxes of toys lying around, many are in R.O.D 1. I'm pretty sure a good 50% can be donated/chucked and will free up a lot of space.
Everyone has been doing so well, and I do catch up on the daily emails. It's a brilliant way to keep motivated.
