2020 - banish the clutter

Great decluttering again all - I had a slower day yesterday but did some reorganisation of stuff to make better use of some shelf space gained by the weekend's mammoth efforts. That now means that there is a spare shelf on one of the front room bookcases which needs a use assigned to it. Currently I'm just enjoying the nice clear space!
- 1 bag of shredding into the office this morning and now fed through the heavy duty shredder.
- Clinique moisturiser used up - pot is being kept though as MrEH has a use for it.
I think tonight's mission might be to take a look at my wardrobe, and also possibly to review the spare bedding, I have a feeling we have accumulated rather more than we require and it takes up a LOT of space.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Abject apologies 😐 - I never did get back 😐 Tuesday was quite a busy day for me although no major decluttering - more cleaning & rearranging in the kitchen 😆
I went through a double corner cupboard - 3 shelves - created half an empty shelf 👏 Rearranged the cupboard at the top of the oven stack - everything easier to get to - which leads me to my accident 🤕 I was using a two step ladder thingy & made the unfortunate mistake of stepping back from the top step missing the bottom step! Never have I been so grateful to have a small kitchen 👏 The whole event was slow motion & silent - I realised I had been a clumsy Herbert when I crashed into the hob & drawers. Angular handles so scraped all down my right upper arm 🤕 DH & DSis were both upstairs moving her bed so heard nothing. They were unaware that I had been so clumsy until I went upstairs & showed them my arm. DH cleaned it up & put a dressing over the worst area. He also took a photo as it was the back of my arm so I couldn’t see. I am fine if a bit bruised & battered.
Now I have to depart for acupuncture/massage, so will see you later.

Oh no MrsSD. Hope you're Ok, a bit shaken up though I expect. Take things easy for a while. I've been there and done that, only I managed to turn around and fall forwards onto my face. Looked like I'd done 12 rounds with Tyson Fury as I'd landed on my glasses, which luckily were not broken. Small mercies eh ? That brings me to my post today as I couldn't understand why I was falling over my feet a lot lately....... turns out both my slippers had broken, uppers from soles, so they are in the bin in disgust ( I hadn't had them long either
). Also binned another curtain rail, a plastic one that had had it's day. 3 single socks gone too, as I was fed up of waiting for their partners to show up !
I am going to watch DGS in " Magic and Mayhem " ( Harry Potter play ) at his school tomorrow and as there will be raffles and refreshments afterwards, there will be quite a bit of money decluttering going onMight as well leave it at the door ! My purse I mean.
Take care allnan
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently16 -
Been keeping busy, 2 old broken curtain rail's replaced and broke into smaller bit's and put in recycling bin.
Everything put back in the bathroom, we just need to get the cat out of the shower.
Caught up with both shredding and ironing.
Decluttered 350 emails.
And sorted out the top cupboard.

Hope you're okay Mrs SD.
I've been sorting the kitchen too. I bought one of those tins stores where they roll forward - it has 3 shelves and sperators so that it holds 36 cans, where I'd have had 12 before. Then I started on the rest of the kitchen. I have a one pot which has been in the cupboard since I got it - I managed to buy one that didn't do slow cooking which meant that I still needed to have the slow cooker out. When I was a meat eater (all of a week and a half ago) I had separate pans, kitchen tools etc., for vegetarian food and meat. Now that we're both vegan I've moved half of everything to the garage. I'm not getting rid at the moment as I will still be cooking meat sometimes for Shirley and guests.
We went to Lewes on our 6 hours off yesterday and had a nice vegan pizza in DH's favourite pub The Snowdrop Inn. We loaded a lot of cs stuff in the car, but didn't drop it off. We're off to Leicester next week to see my stepdaughter and family. She's in woo woo like we are so we're taking about 10 bags of books to her.Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright14 -
Oh no Mrs SD we are poorly arm partners but I wouldn’t wish that on anyone ☹️ I hope Mr SD and your DSis are spoiling you and that you are taking it easy.I sorted the medication basket this week and found that DH and I are both guilty of leaving two tablets in a blister strip and starting a new packet without disposing of the last 😱😱 all now sorted - hopefully new system will stop a repeat....... it has to be simple or DH will circumvent it!! Time will tell.
I was planning a drawer of the sitting room chest this afternoon but fell asleep on the sofa instead (oops) that will have to wait for another day now.
More decluttering to follow - my addiction must be fed!!RepentantHoarder ⭐️⭐️⭐️14 -

Back again! Thank you EssexHebridean, nannywindow & ailz95 😊 Thankfully my arm appears to have borne the brunt of my clumsiness 👏 - colouring up nicely 😂 I retired the step thingy & sorted out the deep drawer in the oven stack - cleaned & organised & a few bits decluttered. Rearranged one shelf in the larder - more user friendly 😆 Also managed to finish scarf no.24 & start scarf no.25. Dinner was roast beef, roast - potatoes, carrots, leeks & parsnips, mashed sweet potato, cauliflower & garden peas + DH made a very tasty gravy from scratch. Guess who forgot the Yorkshire puddings 😛 Dinner was absolutely delicious 🤤 The only thing is that the washing up takes forever ♾ 😆
Wednesday has been a bright & sunny day but with a bitter wind ☹️ DSis & I had our penultimate sessions at the Chinese Medical Centre - next week I will definitely be booking another course of treatment but not so sure about DSis? DSis went to sm & I went straight home. DH was out picking up the refurbished hand crank sewing machine & will be sourcing extra needles for me. Now DH & I need to finish sorting his office ASAP as I will have a small area to set up my sewing machine & practice. My intention is to make curtains - but we will see 🤭
Dinner tonight will be lo roast beef, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puddings & various vegetables.

Sound advice EssexHebridean 👏 & well done on decluttering - every bit counts 😃 Excellent work on the decluttering EssexHebridean 👏 As far as the empty shelf - I would keep it empty for as long as possible 😂 just to remind yourself that “I AM A SUCCESSFUL DECLUTTERER”
Naughty, naughty nannywindow - as above every single item counts 👏 Sorry to hear about the slippers ☹️ but it must be a relief that you haven’t caught ‘clumsyitis’ 😆
