I did give my summary of costs in when I filed my paperwork but had also taken this afternoon off work as the hearing was to last up to 2 hours. I only found out that it had been discontinued from ringing the courts yesterday and then again today for the log in details. There’s no way I would want them to get away with it as feel my costs are beyond fair including the £225 I had paid when I got the ccj. Stupidly I didn’t take a name and was told I wouldn’t get confirmation in the post and for further details I would need to email the courts which I have done and received and auto email back acknowledging reciept

You could phone the court again, get further verbal confirmation, then ask for the name of the person giving you the details this time.  Have a think about any other questions you might want to ask at the same time - make a reminder list.

  • Iv phoned the court and have got a name. I have been asked to email the court for the formal discontinuation letter and to claim my costs. I will do that this afternoon. Thank you everyone

Good progress, and looking a bit hopeful.

That is great news. I know that you were worrying about going to court with everything else that is going on at the moment. Like the others have mentioned I would try to get your costs.

I would also consider sending the PPC a cease and desist letter to stop it happening again. It's your land and they are trespassing.

    Well done.

    Enjoy your Easter weekend

Thank you so much. Yes it has definitely been a strain on my mind.
Can you please explain more about the ppc cease and desist letter ?
I had wonder what the outcome meant for things going forward.  Thank you very much

You send a letter to the parking company to cease and desist from harassing you plus not to issue a PCN on your property in future or you will take court action of your own , Google it

Thankyou. Sorry I should have been more clear. I meant will the discontinuation of the hearing be enough for me to send them the letter to stop harassing me on my property ? I wondered if the discontinuation meant they can no longer ticket on my property or whether it meant they are simply giving up on the tickets they already issued. I am also wondering if I can send the same letter to the estate management company.

    Thankyou so much

I would also be inclined to suggest to the management company that they dispense with the PPC and install electic gates as they originally planned. I would have thought it would have increased the value of both the leasehold and freehold properties. They have probably got some funds built up in a sinking fund and it would be worth paying a little bit more to be free of the PPC.

It seems unfair that as a freeholder you have no say in the managment of the car park yet have to pay a charge.

Anyway this issue has now been resolved which is brilliant. They were very unlikely to have won and must have had the sense to realise it,
