    Hi. Yes I realise they are protecting me against fraud but nobody seemed to know the procedure.
    I got told 3 different things on live chat.
    First to authorise via the "be secure" tab on the app, then when that didn't work to reinstall the app, then finally the 3rd person told me to ring customer services and ask for the fraud department.
    I rang the number they gave me and the lady insisted it could be done on the app, I finally convinced her it couldn't and she put me through to the fraud team who took some details of the payments and promised me it would clear this morning - it hasn't.
    The payee was set up last week and a small payment sent so I was hoping it would go through without all this hassle.


    I made a similar experience with my first withdrawal from a VM current account to a current account in my name at another bank. I was given the runaround and false promises. They released the money after a few days. I then put a formal complaint in, eventually got an apology and £30. 

    This was back in July but it seems they are still following their pathetic 'processes'. I would raise a formal complaint if I were you.

    I've just been reading the reviews on Trust Pilot and loads of people are having problems.

    Yup, put the code in to apply for the wine on the 9th and it arrived on the 14th, got an email and text on the day to advise DHL delivery, but nothing before that. 
  • Are Virgin Money still allowing people to open more than one Virgin Money current account, if anyone is aware of the latest situation on this please? I have read earlier posts in this thread where some people were fortunate enough to be able to get up to three of these current accounts before Virgin Money prevented them getting any more; in fact I believe that one lucky poster was able to get as many as five of them. I would merely like to have a 2nd current account as a reserve account in case I can't access money from what is my one and only Virgin Money current account at the moment. I have no desire at present to have any more than two of these current accounts even though the 2% interest rate on the first £1000 in each current account successfully applied for is clearly rather appealing to say the least!

    I use both - but yes phone apps can be really easy to use. Print isn't particularly small. The apps are configured differently to the website and can be much easier t use than websites. I prefer using my First Direct App to the website

    I think some dd's may not appear on the account until after a payment is made on them. That was the case when i set up a dd to PO saver from a  TSB acc and took around 10 days to set up. Paypal dd are quite easily and quickly set up though.

    Setting up a Paypal direct debit (even though it's not a regular one) would suffice for a switch?

    I was initially reticent but now I use the apps for the umpteen accounts I have whenever I can. Just alone logging in happens in a fraction of the time it would take me to log into online banking, and many other tasks are much simpler in the apps than in online banking. I can also do some banking on the move, without having to lug a laptop around. 

    I do wear glasses, am almost 70, and I use the apps on on an iPhone XS Max or iPad. I appreciate, if you only have a smaller phone, it might be difficult to navigate round apps.

    Particularly with Virgin Money current accounts, I find their online banking ghastly but the app quite slick. For example, moving money about, or rearranging accounts, is, IMO, much easier in the app than in online. Not to talk about the cumbersome online login! In the end, though, it all comes down to personal preference.

    My switch completed on the 18th December (with all other offer criteria met) and I received the code today (22nd).
