Virgin Money Current Account

They are protecting your money against fraud. I had this with Lloyds and earlier this year First Direct. Lloyds were a right pain, the guy on the phone took some convincing it was me, then I still had to ring again, that time a female and she immediately released my account. So I reckon it was a double double check, thinking if I'm really a con artist would I really have the bare face to ring s second time.😵
I got told 3 different things on live chat.
First to authorise via the "be secure" tab on the app, then when that didn't work to reinstall the app, then finally the 3rd person told me to ring customer services and ask for the fraud department.
I rang the number they gave me and the lady insisted it could be done on the app, I finally convinced her it couldn't and she put me through to the fraud team who took some details of the payments and promised me it would clear this morning - it hasn't.
The payee was set up last week and a small payment sent so I was hoping it would go through without all this hassle.
This was back in July but it seems they are still following their pathetic 'processes'. I would raise a formal complaint if I were you.
I've just been reading the reviews on Trust Pilot and loads of people are having problems.

Are Virgin Money still allowing people to open more than one Virgin Money current account, if anyone is aware of the latest situation on this please? I have read earlier posts in this thread where some people were fortunate enough to be able to get up to three of these current accounts before Virgin Money prevented them getting any more; in fact I believe that one lucky poster was able to get as many as five of them. I would merely like to have a 2nd current account as a reserve account in case I can't access money from what is my one and only Virgin Money current account at the moment. I have no desire at present to have any more than two of these current accounts even though the 2% interest rate on the first £1000 in each current account successfully applied for is clearly rather appealing to say the least!0

I've no idea I'm afraid, but if I wanted a second account in case I couldn't access my one and only account, common sense would suggest I should open it at a different bank.6

If it's not there on day 31 though, I'll be raising a complaint, having been dismissed so promptly on day 20. My gut instinct is that it will need chasing.0

The direct debits will take 10 days or so to move and then maybe not taken for a while as they are monthly. When should I initiate the switch - after 10 days? I have only got about 17 days left to do the switch. I guess as long as the dd are on the account whether they have been used yet will not matter?I think some dd's may not appear on the account until after a payment is made on them. That was the case when i set up a dd to PO saver from a TSB acc and took around 10 days to set up. Paypal dd are quite easily and quickly set up though.0

I do wear glasses, am almost 70, and I use the apps on on an iPhone XS Max or iPad. I appreciate, if you only have a smaller phone, it might be difficult to navigate round apps.
Particularly with Virgin Money current accounts, I find their online banking ghastly but the app quite slick. For example, moving money about, or rearranging accounts, is, IMO, much easier in the app than in online. Not to talk about the cumbersome online login! In the end, though, it all comes down to personal preference.2 -

Guessing at some point after Christmas (at best) or January for delivery.👍0
