Not had any problems myself since account was opened. But then I just left £1k in the account that switched in, transferred it straight into the linked savings account until the wine code arrived 6 days later, then transferred it back into the Virgin current account where it earns 2%. My £800 standing order to Barclays has also transferred.goatfaced said:The reviews on Trustpilot don't seem good. Has anyone has an issue with transferring the money between their savings and current accounts, or with any standing orders that they already had running on their old account?
I'm just at the deadline for transferring the 1k in, but wondering if It'll be a nightmare to get back from them. Is it just setting up new payments that triggers them to block your account?0 -
They seem to ignore requests for callbacks- I was offered one when I was trying to speak to someone about getting the thing open, which was ignored.gwapenut said:I've now lodged a complaint about my missing wine code. A promised callback failed to materialise. The once promising Virgin Money now just seem to be Yorkshire Bank rolled in glitter. Shame.
Also not impressed that (per someone on the in app chat) standing orders, once set up don’t show up until 24 hours before the first payment. Not a massive issue but just unhelpful when I no longer want the SO.
The account isn’t a “keeper” once the interest rate (inevitably) drops.

It may be a keeper for the overseas debit card though...0

In a nutshell this thread has 82 pages! About 1000 posts! Instead of reading through each post can someone summarise why this thread has got so much attention. What is so special about Virgin bank? I have been with them for over a year (i never use it), i find them useless. Am i missing a trick with Virgin?0

Am i missing a trick with Virgin?15 bottles of free wine, 2% interest on £1k balance. It's mostly talk about the wine offer, have you got yours yet, bla bla.Obviously because you can't get the deal (well the wine anyway) or can you? it's of no interest.Likewise with my 2 TSB accounts now, they are useless, so are TSB according to some, they served their purpose.0

ahh, thanks. Not sure if i can get these perks or not but not worth investigating it for some wine and £20. Was hoping it would be something amazing.
Anything special about using the card abroad?0 -

No fees, no abnormal cash advance limits. I'm presuming the exchange rates are the same as you get with Monzo/Starling mastercards but am not certain yet.0 -
Not to bad, i have Monzo (dont use that either) add to that Virgin, then hopefully could use them both abroad if need be!
Thanks0 -
It's not just some wine, it's £180 worth of wine. Ok some say it can be bought for less but if you like wine and buy it then it's worth the switch. Don't use the cards when switched so don't know about the perks, don't go abroad either, I'm only in it for the wine, hic.xlnc99 said:ahh, thanks.
