Virgin Money Current Account

Thanks. Yes, my credit history is good and I don't believe I have ever paid a company interest or used an overdraft - so as you say, I'm not really a customer they are going to make any money out of.PRAISETHESUN said:It wont be because of your "credit rating" despite what Virgin say - your rating is never seen by lenders, so what matters most is your credit history. If your files are up to date and accurate then that's all that matters. Odds are you just don't fit the profile of the type of customer they want (ie. someone they can make money from).1 -
I too have set a switch date 10 workings days away so I can get some DDs set up on my soon to be sad TSB account. That still leaves me one more TSB account to move when the next offer comes along.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
What a palaver! Someone at Virgin Money needs to review their application form.
One question asks: how much do you hope to save per annum - entered £5000.
Next question: how often do you plan to save weekly/monthly/annually - entered monthly. In the review section it then shows £5000 per month - err NO!
In some cases they then ask secondary questions like when did you last take out a mobile phone contract - there is no option to enter NEVER! [ I have a mobile but someone else set the contract up and also pays for it.]
As a consequence of entering a 'wrong answer', they need to send a code in the post to continue with the application. Will need the wine to help get over the trauma over what should have been a simple application.2 -
I also 'failed' the additional questions. Though I know my answers were correct as I had my Equifax report on screen at the same time! But in any case the code through the post came quickly and I'm all set up now. I have a lot of current accounts as I'm a serial switcher and I must say I'm impressed with Virgin so far. I was pleasantly surprised as last time I had dealings with Clydesdale / Yorkshire, they seemed very old fashioned. But seem to be one of the better banks now!ovusa said:What a palaver! Some of the big banks could learn a thing or two from Virgin, people seem to rave about Barclays / HSBC etc - not a clue why!0 -

Has anyone had this after the 3 multiple choice credit file questions in the application?0 -
Yes Ed, Iv'e just opened a new Virgin account . Your photo showed but then almost immediately I had an email saying your account is now open. Odd thing , however ,was they used my old Customer Number and Password.0

How far did you get through your application before getting this message? Did you get to pressing the button to open the account? I made it to the end of submitting the 3 multiple choice questions, but didn't get to the following screen (taken from OH's application) and I've had no email:Ken68 said:Yes Ed, Iv'e just opened a new Virgin account . I got the same message but I haven't pursued it as, in the end, I didn't think a case of over-priced wine was worth the bother.Ed-1 said:

I will wait until the next cash switching offer comes along.0 -
How long ago did you do the application? It hasn't resolved itself then?The_Green_Hornet said:
