It doesn't require you to set up direct debits... that's the reason I opened my VM account as I still want to keep my Barclay's account.

I was holding off opening a Virgin Money current account in hope of a switch offer. I'm not a wine drinker though, but I'm sure I'll find some use for it, like e.g. becoming a wine drinker

Sadly, it is not open to existing Virgin Money current account holders (or B, Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank current account holders). Great offer for newbies though.

TBH at the moment, I need a case of wine more than I need a current account!

Must be a cellar in the sett.

Sadly not. Just a cupboard under the stairs & wine rack in utility room.

Due to house selling/buying process, stocks are rapidly being depleted

i have just setup 2 DD's on my donor account which will take a few days to appear. is it easy enough having opened a VM account to instigate the switch or is it better to do the switch during the signup? 
i'd like to get the account opening process started ASAP so i don't miss out.
