I've saved at least £1098.31 in August. I'm not sure for definite, I could have saved an additional £150 through work share-save scheme but I need to check to make sure I've not counted a deposit twice (cashing out early to take advantage of a better deal next year has complicated things and I'll need to check to make sure).
I did have an additional £150 saved in my old share-save scheme - that's been returned to me yesterday so I will squirrel it away in my cash savings for September.

After paying myself first I have saved £586 in September, which takes me just about to £9000 saved so far this year. Hoooray!
Depending on whether I manage to save a bit more this month I might increase my target for the year - we shall see!

Also well done @Gem-gem on taking the plunge and good luck!

£1335 saved this month. £600 was theatre tickets monies returned.
£21,638.98 saved. This is normally what I would save in three years. Covid 19 with no travelIng to far away places, no meals out with friends (walks instead) and less Shopping/spending - it is amazing the difference.
Middle of this month - have a big bill £500 to pay so this will wipe out what I save into my regular saver. So not expecting much in the way of savings next month.
Left my part time salaried job, now full time self employed for the first time. Have worked for employerS for 33 years, last year started my own company and dipped my toe in. I have now taken the plunge.
    So brave - well done!

Thank you Delta13 and Suffolk_lass for you good wishes. I can't believe I have done it. Two years ago I was working full time on a good salary with a final salary and then career average pension. I have played safe my whole life. Fingers crossed it will all work out.

  • Well done @Gem-gem I hope it all works out really well for you

Update form completed for July and August, sorry fell behind in my updates but a good total in August has me well on track for savings total this year. Will see what September brings, expenses going back up as life returns to normal.

I saved £399.21, which was more than I expected in August, due to a bit of interest on an expired savings account, and a £100 Halifax bank switching bonus.   We paid for a holiday next month, and a deposit on one for next year (spending on none for ages, then 2 come along at once!).
    I will submit my form.

  • happy sunday everyone - Back after a few months to report July was a loss of £3000 as I managed to sneak to turkey and have some well needed dental work done. Back with my new smile and managed to save £1100 in august so back above my total of £15000. Im trying hard to keep it above £15000 till december but I have some bills due.

  • I have only made about £25 this month for my savings in August. We had a holiday in July which i now paid for in August and it used even some of my savings. Made some cash by some switching of bank account, so i am not in Minus with my saving. September will also look a bit slim, as we had another holiday in August. We feel fortunate enough to have been on holiday twice now, and expect this to become more difficult with the next months coming.
    Year total: £5,275.60 / £8000
