Final update for 2020 is December savings of £2184.33. I found it hard to spend any of my bday or Christmas money and ended up spending them mostly on expected bills and unexpected vet bills. I have a small amount left which will probably go on my car insurance so I don’t need to pay for it monthly 🙈 I don’t think I’ll end up actually having bought myself anything!6

Declaring £471.70 for December, which takes me to a grand total of £6528.07/£10,000 for the year.
On the face of it, this looks bad. However, I ended up spending somewhere in the region of £2-2500 total on moving house (no vans+mates for pizza in these times, unfortunately, three weeks overlapping tenancies, and a bunch of new furniture needed as the new place lacked the fitted features of my old place) and nearly three months of furlough that lost me most of the rest of it. So I know where it's gone and I'm happy that it's all an investment in my future as I move into a new job with a significant pay rise and good opportunities for learning. Not counted - pension contributions (good), interest payments (terrible).
I think the gap between the things I've mentioned and the target was mainly fancy cheesecake ingredients but I'll give myself that, it's not been a fun year.

No. 10 here reporting a big fat nil for December - there was quite a bit of planning for January though, and hopefully it will save a little money this year. I didn't reach target but am thinking that now I am part-time I should probably lower it anyway, to be honest. That's a question for this year though. Best of luck to everyone for the 2021 challenge!4

Hi
#6 reporting in with saving of £1,376.01 in December, for an overall total for the year of £17,032.98/£15,000.00.
I’m so pleased to have not only reached my target (which I originally viewed as a stretch target when I set it last year) but to have surpassed it by more than £2K. I have been extraordinarily lucky to have a very stable job, the ability to work from home and significantly reduced travel expenses due to working from home, all of which combined to put me in the position I’m in.
Form submitted.
Huge thanks to @slowlyfading for all you do on this thread.
See you on the 2021 thread.

Number 40, reporting a December total of £761.38. Form submitted.
I saved over my target, partly due to having set quite a realistic one, and also lockdown seemed to help. I am fortunate to have a job that's not been furloughed or made redundant. I saved about 1k more in 2020 than I did in 2019 (though I wasn't in the challenge then, but very much lurking). I put this down to lockdown mainly, and fewer holidays, but of course motivation from the thread is great. I will set a slowly lower target next year, as I think our finances will be a bit different.
Off to join the 2021 thread and to read the MSE S&S ISA guide, as I am going to open my first S&S one. Exciting.
Thanks SF.5
