Final update for 2020 from #27, with £3373.76 for December, making it exactly £52,500 saved for 2020. Like most, we've found it full of challenges, especially with elderly and very vulnerable parents to support, but there are some high points too - we became mortgage-free in June, and I ticked off a couple of major career milestones late in the year. Thanks as always to @slowlyfading for all the work behind the scenes to keep things going tooThanks too for the replies to my last post regarding FIRE - I've been a sort-of FIRE adherent for a while now, in as much as I save a lot and have maxed out SIPP and ISA contributions for quite a few years, but i've been lazy about it and never managed to articulate any kind of target that i'm aiming at. I figure that just pushing spare cash into savings is a good start and i'm fortunate that I'm for the most part not very interested in expensive things, so our core outgoings are much less than our incomes. At some point I will need to figure out what "enough" looks like though, especially as I'd like to look at refocusing my work towards something less stressful and more satisfying before too many years, even if it comes with a significant pay cut. And I would like to move house at some point, not really to anything bigger, but more garden would be nice. Maybe understanding all that needs to become my resolution for 2021!
