Vodaphone finally came back to me at the end of last week (only had to wait a month - three days ha ha ha). They offered to
let me cancel my contract without penalities.- half price line rental for the rest of my contract
- upgrade early

I'll give this a try as I've been waiting over TEN weeks now! The best bit is I spoke to a CS manager last week who informed me that Vodafone can take as long as they like since they're essentially doing me a favour, and 9 weeks (at the time) was a reasonable period to wait in his opinion!!! :mad:So my advice:
1) Send a message from your online account.
2) If they email back with a "We will contact you within in the next 72hr/48hr/24hrs... hold them to it.
3) If there's no reply/callback - reply to the email and say that they're not holding to their word.
4) Repeat till you get the call.
5) After talking to the special team and getting the correct deal, phone CS again and ask for some credit for the months you had to wait for sorting out the situation - tell them to ask the supervisor if they don't know.
My contract expires in under two months and I've pretty much given up hope of receiving this mythical call before then. It makes matters worse that I got this contract for my wife so if they do call when I'm not around they may refuse to deal with her.
I certainly won't be considering using Vodafone again anytime soon (also a long standing O2 contract customer and happy with it). I would rather have originally been told they were unwilling to help, than be left dangling for over two months.."I am not Geoff Vadar, I'm Darth Vadar"0 -

Hi Phil, I can appreciate that's an awfully long time to wait for us to contact you. With respect to your wife being able to deal with the account, if you call us on 191 from the phone you can ask for her to be given "full access" which means she can deal with the account on your behalf and basically do anything except cancel it.
Fingers crossed the call will come soon,

I got the last 2 months of my contract for £5 even though the retailer I purchased hasn't gone into administratin (yet).0

Found out that I wasn;t getting my half price contract up until the end of the contract as promised.
Called them recently and turns out that they've changed my price plan and signed me up for another 12 months!
And they won't let me cancel my contract as I'm still within commitment and would need to pay penalty of line rental for the remaining months of a contract that I never agreed.
Numerous phone calls (and broken promises of callbacks) later and I'm offered the following...
They can "let me off" the contract extension as long as I pay back the discount given to me for the new contract (which I never agreed in the first place).
When I asked them to prove that i agreed this new contract, they said the proof was the contract change and that they can;t change my contract without my authorisation.
I do not want to pay for a supposed discount that I never agreed, neither do i want to give these jokers any more business for that matter.
Can anyone tell me what my position is and how to take this forward?
Like which bodies to contact for advice, etc.0 -
I called Vodafone in April about my contract with Phones2uDirect. First person I spoke to said that it was nothing to do with them, and that they couldn't get involved in a contract between me and Phones 2u. I told her they had a special department to deal with such claims, but she said she didn't know anything about that. I asked to speak to someone else, and he promised that I would have a call back within 3 days.
Nothing.
I called 191 again after 2 weeks, they said there were a lot of claims at the moment and that I would definitely get a call by the end of the week.
Nothing.
Called the following week to ask what was happening, and the guy seemed extremely keen to point out that Vodafone was under no obligation to do anything at all about this, and that anything that they did do was only a gesture of goodwill (can it really be good will when the person doing it is so keen to make sure you know he doesn't have to do it and you should be grateful???). I pointed out that I had only called to find out why no-one had called me back for so long when I had been promised a call after 3 days. He said "I know, I was just saying what we're trained to say". Then he went on to be very argumentative and try to drag me in to an argument about the rights and wrongs of all this (I am sorry to say that he succeeded). Eventually, he promised me a call back by the end of the following week. He ended the call with a sarcastic "It's been a pleasure talking to you?"
There has still been no call back, and I have since paid 2 more bills at full price. My contract ends in October, so I'm not going to get much now.
Will never choose Vodafone again.0 -
Better still, don't do cashback deals in the first place.0
