  • Called 191 and as promised they called me back within 48 hours, offered me a new half price contract for 12 months but negotiated remaing 7 months only as I want out. Half price being £17.50 and waiting to see bill etc to see if they keep their promise. Have signed petition as should everyone!
  • Surely the phone operators wouldn't pay these dealers up front would they? It makes you wonder how much they got!!! - and how much is still in the kitty?

Yeah resellers usually get commision from the networks after a about 2/3 months - could have been anything from 200-600 quid depending on the tariff and contract length! (Based on my time working at CPW)

I finally remembered to call Voda (again - got the standard response on the day of the liquidation announcement) about PBD. Only rang at about 7pm but got a call at 12 today offering half price on my £35 tariff. Gave me the option of til the end of my contract or extending for a full 12 months. Was happy with til the end of June :) Seems like this is their standard offer now.
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...
  • Finally agreed on a half price (£17.50) till end of existing contract with Vodafone. (Didn't want to go another 12 mths with existing phones) I was told that the £5 deal was not available on Phoneboxdirect orders.

Hi guys, really appreciate your comments...here's what's happened to me so far.

Called just before MBD went bust, I threatening everything (to Voda) due to non payment of my cash back but they kept saying "nothing to do with me"

    Just called back and got the following;

Sorry nothing to do with us - you leave, it'll cost you a disconnection fee (running into hundreds!)

Pressed them and quoted "MSE" and they claimed no "specialist team"

Told them they were offering others a reduction to £17.50, to which she said she had no memo on that. Did discuss further and she could "reduce" my tariff but after listening...it was a move to another tariff, so BE AWARE, TO THIS TACTIC!

Eventually, after here referring to someone, I'm getting the call back.

I'm only going to settle for the 1/2 price for the remainder of my contract, since reception with them is rubbish!

Be firm but polite and drop in a few references to this site and the experiences of others and I'm sue we'll get there....in the end!!!

    I'll keep you posted
  • I was offered a better deal of £5 a month until the end of contract. This can be offered only by a manager so if you receive a phone call state you are still unhappy and request a phone back from a supervisor. They should give you the offer of £5 a month. This cannot apparently be offered from the normal callback team.
  • [FONT=tahoma,verdana,sans-serif]Folks.

Was flatly refused any sort of reduction in line rental, the customer service chap basically so tough, nothing to do with them even though I mentioned that they gave coolnewmobile an incentive to get custom for them, was still said basically tough.
I have dropped my line rental to the bottom most tariff and cant wait to get away from these jokers.
What should I do now, leave it and ride it out, or phone back to try and get the £5 line rental. Any advice would be most gratefully recieved. Basically how can I play this to get the £5.00 deal.

    Regards
    Gazza.

  • Spoke to CS 2-3 weeks ago who promised me a call back from the specilaist team within 3-4 days. Could not give me a contact number for specialist team.....No call back received, called CS today to be told that the delay has been caused by 12 yes 12 of their agents going out of business but that I would definately get a call. CS chap then asked if my cashback was for half price line rental when I said it was for the whole £35 per month he said he would credit my account with the £35 for this month and that I should have had a call from the specilaist team to sort something before the next bill / payment was due.
  • Hi Guys. I'd like to ask an advice. I am still awaiting for the specialist team to get back to me, I rang Voda 9 days ago and still no call from them. I never got a single cash back from the £420 PBD owes me.
This is my 9th month with the contract, basically, I can reduce my tariff even w/o talking to the specialist team, but the cheapest they can give me is £20 a month. The lady that spoke to me said that the specialist team will help me get my cash back. Is it true? Or shall I reduce my tariff now. I only have 3 months left anyway.
Please any advice would be great.
  • I agreed to £17.50 per month until the end of my contract but have just had £35 per phone direct debited from my account. Looks like vodafone customer service isn't talking to accounts yet!!! I'll be in touch.
