Both myself and my husband were offered a discounted line rental from £35 to £5 per month with immediate effect. This does not entail entering a new contract, it simply runs to the end of the original 12 month contract of which we are in month 4.
Im not sure if the offer is still available. CNM went into administration on the Wednesday and I rang them on the following saturday.0 -
Did you have to fight for this or were they very aware of the situation?0
-
I was offered half price line rental (£17.50) for the remainder of my contract (6months).
However, i received a letter today from Voda thanking me for renewing my contract with an end date of Nov 2008 for £35p/m.
I called 191 and was told that although it says £35 on the letter, on their system it says with half price line rental of £17.50 but that it is for 12 months.
I explained about the team that called me with the offer and was told he'd put a note through for them to contact me to explain.
Did this happen to anyone else?0 -
When I first contacted Vodafone I was told I'd had to pay a disconnection fee to leave the contract (I had 4 months left on a 12 month contract) and there was no offer of a reduced monthly tariff. I pressed a bit and eventually was offered the half price rental until the end of the contract which I accepted as I thought it unlikely to get anything better. The guy I spoke to said they had around 22000 cashback customers. Having seen the £5 offer for Big Dreams and husband I'm now wondering whether I should have argued a bit harder!0

Has anyone else been tied to a new 12month contract by Vodafone without agreeing to it and if so what have they done about it?
Im waiting for a callback from the specialist team to see whats going on.0 -
I am awaiting my phone call! Will post result when known. Four months into deal with not a penny back and feeling very annoyed. They tried various delaying tactics before going belly up such as saying that I'd sent the wrong bill (it wasn't) then they agreed it was the correct bill, then emailing to say that the amount had been cleared for payment (several times) then - nothing - until I read elsewhere that the company had folded. I've had cashback deals for a number of years with no previous problems. Too good to be true? Maybe I should have been more careful!!!0

Hey all,
I'm a casualty from the Dial-a-mobile/ Mobilephonesontheweb debacle, so I spoke to Vodafone a week or so before the news about CNM came out.
After being passed around for a week or so, I was offered the £5 deal with no negotiation by a CS person (not he specialist team). I got this confirmed in writing, until the end of my contract.
My bill arrived yesterday, and surprise .. it's for my standard tariff of £35. straight back on the phone, and apparently there's been a "misunderstanding" and details of my new deal haven't been passed to the billing dept.
The CS person could see that the deal has been noted on my record and assured me that an amended bill would be sent. I'll keep this thread updated!
It seems to me that if you are unlucky with one CS person, keep trying until you get someone sympathetic, that knows what is going on.
Best of luck.

Had a call offering me a half price deal (£17.50 a month on a new 12 month contract) on one of my 2 phones which was "not negotiable". I'm wondering what happened to the £5 a month deal quoted by others?

yes i have just opened my letter from Vodaphone. they have listed me as a full price contract £35 and done this for another 12 months, so i am now worse off than before.
I did not agree to extend my contract either so even at half price i would be no better offer because all they have done is extend my contact for an extra 6 months.
Prefer to go back to my old contract now so i can dump them as as soon as possible. Suppose to be helping us!! Scr*wing us more likely."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
Surely they cant just tie us to a new contract without our knowledge or signing anything.0
