  • Thanks Tahlullah! It was a lot more polite than I originally wrote, I had included a sentence about him and his parents not respecting the place because he didn't live there anymore but I sent it to my mum first and she was like, you might want to remove that....but if I come back to a tip again this weekend I will definitely be telling them. I haven't once denied them access, but if they keep taking the p*** I will start playing hardball!

I had quite a successful lunch break. Went to the charity shop, I had £20 in my clothes fund for this month. I spent £14.75 and got an underarmour thermal running top (usually £25!), a blouse and some trousers, both good for work. I tried the trousers on while I was in there as I'm short so they can be problematic, but these are perfect. Going to wash them when I get home and then they're good to go :D I gave a colleague £10 as it's another colleague's bday tomorrow (from bday fund), and spent £6 in Home Bargains on bathroom cleaner, mould spray, and sponges (although not the sponges ex et al keep throwing away, I'm not replacing those!)

  • Last update for today!

Didn't run as my knee started twinging before I left work, will have a bath later to try and help soothe my muscles.

I went through the storage cupboard as ex made a comment about it, and I found a silver bracelet his mum got me for xmas 2018 (got his sister the same, so not my style but whatever!) I've stuck it up on ebay as I'd much rather have the money! I've washed my charity shop finds to remove the CS smell (how do all those shops have the same smell?), really happy with all 3.

I've paid £28 off my CC today which brings me to 19% down and £1066.28 left. I took the money from PP and the money in my Monzo pot.

I didn't mention this yesterday, but I got an email from HR for a company I applied for a job with on the weekend (new cv obviously worked!) I'm going to talk to her via phone tomorrow on my lunch, the job looks good BUT it's in London and the top salary is only £2k more than I'm on now, so factoring in travel costs I would be a couple of hundred worse off each month. But I'm taking the call as experience as it's been almost 6 years now that I've been in this job. Need to research the company a little before bed tonight.

Marmite pasta was yummy and very quick and cheap, will add that to my list of meals!

  • Hi everyone! Couple of things to report:

Yesterday I had my telephone interview, I think it went well but I didn't feel any pressure as I'm not sure I would even go for it due to money. She complimented my CV though which was great, I know I'm on the right track! (I can't take the credit for that though as it was my friend who suggested it :rotfl:)

Was annoyed as the boys' litter was delivered to my neighbour rather than to outside my door (I'm 2 floors up), I get it delivered as it's too heavy for me (2 x 30l sacks). Luckily though my neighbour is really nice, they're a shop and two guys took the boxes up for me. Saints!

I then went to Aldi and spent just over £28, got a few bulk bits and had to replace my balsamic vinegar, did also get wine :o Then came home, got the boys' litter tray done, had dinner and then chilled.

Tonight I need to hoover when I get in, have a quick dinner, and them I'm out for a few drinks with the bookclub girls. Haven't had a reply off ex yet so I'm sure I'll get that at some point today as he said he was coming to the flat tomorrow.

My DD for my CC went out this morning, so I topped it up by £3 to get 2% (£28). I've updated my sig and the CC total.

  • Interview sounds great! Im sure you already know this and I’m preaching to the choir, but I’d never switch to a London commute [STRIKE]ever again[/STRIKE] without a substantial pay rise, definitely not for what amounts to a pay cut. You want enough of a rise to both have extra money for the hassle, and extra money for the stuff you end up spending when you’re too tired to make your lunch or when you’re stuck late due to delays.

Nothing like a bit of interview practice to get you back in the saddle though!

WELL. I have had an absolutely atrocious night.
For anyone reading who has thought ex was a d i c k, hold on to the seat of your pants.
I get home, ofc not knowing if ex had come over, to the smell of paint. Ok. Walk into my flat, say hello to the boys. Walking into the living room. And I am beyond shocked,
They have taken EVERYTHING out of the boiler cupboard, off the walls, and dumped them on the floor in the living room. They have taken stuff from one side of the kitchen and dumped it on the other side. They have completely trashed the living space of my flat. The cats have been all over this stuff, which is not safe.
I am so angry, I phone my mum, and then I email him a short email, basically saying !!!!!!? Then I go for a 3 mile run to try and get some of my adrenaline out. Then I come home to an email from ex, a war and peace email in response to my 4 sentence email, basically telling me I'm a dirty pig, the flat is a state, and if I "can't be bothered to keep it nice then it needs to go on the market sooner and they're going to stop decorating and making it look nice".
    1) He's the pig, I was always cleaning up after him when he lived here, and he admitted that
    2) I have been cleaning it, ok it's not pristine but eff it I have a full time job and two cats!!
    3) The flat is going on the market anyway, so what's his point?
He's essentially threatened to stop paying his half of the mortgage. I think this is all a ploy to try and drive me out of the flat so he can move back in, in a large way motivated by his mum who is a neat freak and doesn't want her messy 31-year-old son living in her show home any more. This is probably a (complete over) reaction to me asking him nicely not to get paint everywhere.
I spoke to my close friend for a couple of hours, and I've got a game plan. I blasted all this on SM, I don't even care anymore. He's changed the rules by doing all this, so I'm not leaving the flat for 9am tomorrow. If they do have the balls to come and try and paint, I'll be here waiting for them, and will ask them to say to my face that they think I'm a disgusting pig. I have some choice words for them planned too. That's if they turn up, I reckon they won't bother (I tried to ring ex when he first emailed and he sent me to voicemail, I was only going to tell him to eff off :rage: ).

I am beyond done now. I am not playing nicely anymore. If he stops paying, my friend said she can help me out with two month's of mortgage, and then maybe I'll get someone in the spare room for a while. If he wants to play hardball, I can play it twice as hard. I have dealt with people a lot smarter and meaner than him and come out the other side.

  • What an !!!!!!! I'd def stay out. He can't chuck you out, and he's effectively stopped any chance of you being nice and cooperating. Is there any way you can swing the additional payments - lodger? Then aim to take him off the mortgage?

Might be worth getting some legal advice on this.
  • To start with, I'd tell him you don't agree with putting the flat on the market now. He can't sell it without your permission.
  • I am absolutely raging just reading that, cannot imagine how you were feeling. He sounds like an entitled child with no sense of responsibility, being egged on by his mother who as you say doesn’t want him at home. It’s such an obvious attempt at bullying, my blood is boiling.

Will be thinking of you today.

Thinking about you.  Would definitely think about getting a lodger in.  At least you would be able to keep up the mortgage payments until you decide what you want to do.  (((hugs)))
