  • Hi blondetotty, thanks for delurking! Yes well as mentioned above he said he didn't know what it was, so was glad I clarified. I'm certainly not interesting in getting involved with anyone right now, the thought of romance/dating/hookups makes me feel a bit sick to be honest :rotfl:

So I went to the osteopath last night, my mum's covering that for me at the moment. I then went to my mum's and she gave me some cottage pie she made, and some steaks. I had one portion of cottage pie for dinner, and froze the other two. The steaks are also in the freezer.

I've got a half day from work today as I've got the meeting with the building management. We're all meeting in one of the other flats before the rep gets here so we can decide our strategy. Yesterday I got a reminder from them saying we haven't paid yet :wall: I've got some bits to do in the flat today, need to repaint my nails, go to Aldi, and do a run, thinking 4.5 miles.

Since ex put the meter reading in the usage predicted on the app dropped £30. I've checked the statement and they're lowering my monthly payment to £63 from £83 from March, so that's great news for me!!

I put some more of ex's clothes on ebay, although not all of them yet. I'm thinking at some point I should go through my stuff and see if there's anything I can flog. I managed to do some PA surveys yesterday so once that hits £5/£6 I'll withdraw and add to my 1% CC pot.

  • Evening everyone!

Today has been quite productive. Was at work this morning and got a big piece of work almost done, and then left at lunchtime to head home for the building management meeting. While I was at work I'd made a sale on ebay, that should be a profit of just over £10 as long as it goes ok. So I headed home, had lunch, packaged the item and took it to the Post Office across the road from my flat. Then I did some housework-y bits, and headed to the meeting across the corridor.

The building management guy looked a bit hesitant to face us lol. The upside is we are going to pay this quarter's money, get the gate downstairs fixed (which is a huge security risk for us as residents), and we're going to debate the 6 month's arrears from last year. We (ex and I) have the money in the joint account as we'd always put the money in there, but when they haven't done anything for 6 months it's made everyone here angry and unwilling to pay. We'll probably just end up paying, but we'll see.

I've just been to Aldi, the total was £18, I had £9 in change so I spent just over £9 on my card. I technically have £9 left and I'm on my "non date" tomorrow  I will have to go into my OD to pay my way, but I get paid on Friday and with Monzo there's no charge for the first two days of using your OD so I'll sort it out when I get paid. I'm due some bonus money this month from work for sales made.

I've created a new pot in Monzo labelled "Machu Picchu" :D I'm hoping to do it within the next year. It's around £725 with this company I've found, I'd need to pay for the flight out there and two night's accomodation (plus hiking stuff). I've put the goal as £1k as a start, and put money in when I can. I've asked for any bday money to be cash towards it. Excited to make a start!!

I was scheduled today but while I was in Aldi I had a wave of tiredness come over me....might be lazy.....I'll see how I feel in an hour :rotfl:

  • Evening everyone.

Well I'm a complete let down and cancelled the outing tonight. I've felt progressively worse throughout the day, think I've picked up my osteopath's cold (hope it's not flu!!). I went to Sainsburys on the way home to get a tin of chilli con carne and by the time I got home I felt awful. I've finished the month with £5.77 so I've moved £5 to the MP fund, and I get paid tomorrow so will move everything around in the morning.

Ex says he's coming over tomorrow morning and Saturday to decorate. Must have a fire up his behind as he's realised his self-imposed date of 1st Feb for the flat to be on the market has pretty much come and gone. It does mean I'll have to be out of the flat all day Saturday (self-imposed, I just don't want to see him or his family) but my mum's agreed for me to go round there, and I'll take my laptop so I can finally edit my CV and maybe apply for jobs.

I've asked ex if he wants me to pay the arrears to the management company (we haven't paid them since they took over in July) plus this first quarter. We won't be keeping the flat so seems pointless arguing the toss and potentially getting a charge against us for the debt. The good news is it's in the joint account, the bad news is it wipes out the surplus that was enough for a month's mortgage if needed. But ex seems to be playing ball re: paying per month so I think it's what I'm going to have to do.

I think the guy is annoyed I cancelled as I asked for another day when he's free and he ignored it. I feel bad but I've learnt through having my illness not to push myself. I'm having chilli con carne with nachos (and cheese) for dinner, a Uni fave and comfort food for this illness. Then it's night nurse and bed!

  • You’ve got so much to deal with at the moment, well done on looking after yourself :T Not pushing through is such a hard lesson to learn, I still mess up on that one regularly.

Sorry you’re being chased out of the flat for the weekend, hope you get lots of TLC at your Mum’s. How are you feeling about the flat going on the market and having to move?

  • Hi astrocytic kitten, thanks for checking in on me! Tbh I try not to think about it too much, I don't think it will get on the market for at least the next month or two. I do love the flat, especially for its size and how close it is to my family and work, but it does have its downsides (on an A road so very noisy all day, got used to it) so in some ways I'm looking forward to a change. Just dreading looking for a place that I can afford and will take the cats, but I'm hoping if I offered a pet deposit that would help sway landlords.

Yesterday was a NSD, and payday, so I moved all my money around and added money into my Good Riddance Fund and MP Fund. Work was busy, came home and ex and his mum had done some weird stuff (moved stuff they didn't need to, smeared white paint all over the bin, I think in an attempt to clean it, and thrown away yet another of my sponges). So I had the leftover chilli con carne nachos and some red wine.

Today didn't go to plan - I was going to go out at 9 and sit in my car, then walk to yoga, then come back to the car and go to my mum's. Well I was out at 9 and sat in my car, then I put my bag in the boot. I then remembered I needed something out of my boot, but my boot wouldn't open  Looked in my book for the emergency release, got the back seats up and the pulley wasn't there!!!  So I ended up at my mum's early, skipping yoga, and we found the pulley on the BACK of the seats. Got my bag out. My boot won't open now, but I don't actually use it very much so not the end of the world. Also saved me the tenner the class would have cost, but ofc I would rather have gone!!

I think I'm going out tonight but I'm not sure yet. I'm at my mum's now until my ex leaves at 5. Got my laptop so going to try and edit my CV after this post and then maybe get a nap!

    Happy Saturday!

    Evening everyone!

Just got back from an 8 mile run, was hard as I went too fast at the beginning but I got it done! My legs are destroyed :rotfl:

So I was out the flat until 5pm yesterday, got home and the paint smell is overwhelming. It's hard to air it out as the hallway doesn't have any windows, it still stinks now. Going to have this next week as well as ex is coming over Friday and Saturday, he wasn't clear in his email but he seems to think he can get the decoration/painting done next week which then means it's onto the next stage.

I had some really exciting news yesterday - my mum discovered her pension is going to be a lot bigger than she realised (NHS worker), and so she's going to pay for me to go to Machu Picchu, and then give my brother and his gf money to go away too. This means I can definitely go this year!! Now I need to look for hiking boots so I can work on breaking them in.

I need to go to the shop in a minute as I've defrosted the rump steak but have nothing to go with it! So going to get some potatoes and some tuna for lunch the next couple of days.

The friend/guy messaged today saying he thought he'd messaged me on Friday, so either he was upset and is covering or he wasn't that bothered. I did go completely against what I've said and I went on a date yesterday.....I was bored on Friday and went on a dating app, ended up talking to a guy that lives not far from me and he asked me out. So we met up last night and got some dinner (I did offer but he paid!) I got a couple of rounds of drinks after. I had a really nice time, he is so different to ex in a lot of ways (both in interests and life experience) so was good to have some different conversations. Don't think he's the one (!), we've texted a little bit today but nothing major. He reminds me a little of a friend I had a few years ago, not sure if that's a good or bad thing :rotfl:

Anyway I need to get my running clothes off and get changed to go to the shop. The flat desperately needs hoovering so as I've done nothing else today I need to get that done.

ETA: I had a teeny sale of one of ex's jumpers last night, so I'll get that sent tomorrow. Only makes me like £1.50 after fees but better than nothing I suppose!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

  • Hi all, just a quick check in!

Yesterday I was quite busy at work, and on my lunch posted the ebay parcel and collected a book from the library. Then I went home, sent an email to ex about the state him and his family are leaving the flat in after they decorate (I'm talking paint EVERYWHERE...all over my bottles in the kitchen, the floor, bin, cutlery! using my sponges and tea towels then throwing them away....), paid the management company, and then cleaned the bathroom. Then had dinner and chilled watching some Netflix and Love Island (don't judge me!) Was a NSD. Speaking of ex, he told me we're "running out of time" so I need to organise the storage cupboard and get the place looking presentable....I think he forgets the time was his deadline, not mine, and if he wants to get the place cleaned professionally, after him and his family have essentially trashed it, for the pictures he can pay for it himself. I know they're doing this because he doesn't live there anymore so they don't respect the place and the fact it's still my home! And breathe.

This morning I have already ordered some cat litter for £17.98 with delivery, it's too heavy for me to carry up the stairs myself so I don't mind paying. My legs are destroyed from Sunday's run, worse today than yesterday. I'm scheduled to run tonight, I think I'll do a short and slow recovery run.

I keep forgetting to take my dinners out of the freezer...yesterday I had an omelette, tonight I was going to have lentil bolognese but forgot to get it out. I found a recipe on Cooking on a bootstrap which is marmite pasta, I might try that tonight as a quick meal, and I do like marmite!

I need to get the rest of ex's stuff onto ebay so I can tick it off my To Do list. I'm wondering if there's anything of mine I could sell but not sure.

Have a good day everyone :D
