Oh b**ger Jacks that really is a kick in the teeth. But I am also proud for you that you got to be debt free before all of this kicked off. Will you still keep OH retraining? Can he get some of fees refunded now there is less income in the household?:D
Good luck with this going forward. But ref your boss, should you be entitled to more statutory redundancy pay than just getting paid til the end of the month. And what about any commisssion or holiday pay you are entitled to. It might be more than you are being offered now.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

 Hiya my lovelies,
Sorry for going a bit awol but there's just been so-o-o-o-o much to sort out.
Thanks to everyone who's been posting. To answer a few questions:
We have income insurance linked to Hubby's income which we activated when Hubby was first made redundant, but which doesn't kick in until the end of May,
We have also been receiving Contribution-based Job Seekers Allowance for the past month or so. It was about £60 a week for just Hubby, but will soon rise to £94.50 per week since we are both out of work (so long as I do less than 16 hours a week at what used to be my second job.)
Hubby is doing a college course which is funded by the government cos he's on Job seekers. :j
From my job I get paid until the end of the month even though I don't have to go to work any more plus I get two weeks pay as redundancy money plus pay in lieu for the first quarters holiday entitlement and then my boss has rounded that up a bit. It pretty much means that it's a similar amount to getting paid in full for March and April.
It pretty much means that we're in the same financial position we were in when we were really kicking the @r$e out of the debts. We'll have a similar amount to live on BUT whereas then we could increase it by working more at extra jobs now doing that puts our jobseekers and income replacement insurance in jeopardy.
We'll work it out as we go along I expect.
If there's one thing being a DFW has taught me it's that It's amazing what we can do when we pull together.
Take care all,
I'll try and post more often once I get my head back on straight.
My mum's starting chemo as soon as the docs say she's well enough, and Mum and Dad are moving house this week, plus we've had Options evening last week and Parents Evening this week, AND I just found out that someone I care about is a victim of domestic violence and I feel like such a dumbo for not having realised it before - so there's a lot going on on all fronts.
Love Jacks xxx
PS A slightly funny story if you like black humour - The guy Hubby knows at a local company who told Hubby he might have a position for him in his department has been made redundant himself and his department has been disbanded!:eek:
You couldn't make it up could you?!

Blimey, you have got a lot going on at the mo. As others have said, thank goodness you got DF before the latest bombshell - had you got this news a year ago, it would be a very different situation!
