The same girl also dyed her hair bright pink.... which I think says it all.
I find that can be taken both ways. First is "Look at me! Look at me!" and the other is "Look at my hair and not me!" I've seen piercings used to keep people away as well."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Very true. Some of the nices people I have ever met have some very 'interesting' tattoos and piercings! In fact one had spent over £300 on his tat's (far to much in my opinion!)
Although knowing the girl as I did, I would suggest it was the first one, but I can see why people use their appearence as a shield, I guess just wanting to look normal can be seen the same way, I don't want to stand out as someone might see me.

Too many people say, "I'm depressed" when they mean, "I'm only at 95% today" while failing to realise that being depressed is like feeling the pain of a bereavement every day of your life. That's the only thing I can compare it to - the worst thing being that you often can't see a reason for it, and if the suffered can't, the chance of anyone else understanding it is even more slim!
But I also think the Doctors contribute. I think they must get money for it or something. I have a consultant who tells me I'm depressed. I think he's working on the premise that since I think he's shiite, his treatment is shiite and his department is shiite, so there's obviously something wrong with me. However this is an evidence-based conclusion on my part..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
