    Morning!

How is everyone today? I've not been feeling to good most of the week, so I am really tried and glad it's Friday.

I hoping for a nice quiet day at work today as I really don't have the energy to cope with anything to involved! OH is working late tonight so I am going to stay home and have a nice early night and hopefully a lie in tomorrow.

I have this real knot of sadness in me today and I have no idea why, right in the pit of my stomach. I don't like it at all.

I only joined this forum a few days ago, so I would just like to say "Hello" to everyone!

I havent read every single post on this thread so I do apologise should I say something incorrect - but it sounds like you have come a long way since you started your thread! Well done!!

I am off work at the moment with stress (sickness from work is something I dont normally do). My stress is a mixture of relationship breakup plus the fact that I am in debt. I am now on half pay too, which just adds to my problems. I just dont know how I am going to manage. I have a child too, and we are moving out of the rented property that I share with my ex partner. I feel sick at the thought of coping finanically with that too!

My doctor initially did not give me any tablets as I was trying to convince her that I didnt need them. However, 6 weeks on and I am now on medication. Not only have I got stress but I am trying to tell myself that I am not depressed, when I know I am. I cry everyday - there is so much going on. I am one of these people that DONT EAT when I am stressed and my weight has got very low - Last March I was a comfortable 12, I am now an 8 boarding on a 6!

However, on a good note - I was watching GMTV on Monday and saw the Budget Planner - hence, how I found this site...and I completed my planner and was pleasantly surprised that I had money left over each month. But how come I am always OD and struggling before the next pay day.

It has made me feel a little better and I am going to make this year the year that I face up to my debt and manage it all better.

Sorry I have gone on soooo much here, and practically wrote an essay, but needed someone to talk to.

That's ok we all need to talk sometimes.

Regarding your debt have a read of Immoral_Angels thread (it lists all the terms we use) and also MSE Andrea's thread which explains the best way to start. Try doing a Statement of Affair (SOA) and post it then people will be able to help and suggest any cut backs or cheaper options for you.

I hope that the tablets start working for you soon. I was told that they can take about 6 months to kick in properly. You will get through this and be stronger for it. Do you have any idea when you will be able to go back to work? Post here as much as you like, there are wonderful people who will try their best to help you and the support here is amazing, I feel like I have made some great friends. You have made the first steps on an amazing journey that will see you fight your stress and depression and also learn how to become debt free and manage your money better.

Looking forward to getting to know you better

    xx

Morning everyone and welcome piggy :)

I'm feeling a bit better today, I slept half of the day yesterday and took a sleeping pill last night so I slept at night too. Today I actually feel a bit of energy lurking, so I'm going to make the most of it and give the house a good clean.

I've got an appointment on monday to see the doctor about changing my pills. Prozac worked well for me at first but over the past few weeks I feel as if I need more (I'm on 20mg a day). However, I don't want to up the dose of these because I am sick of gaining weight on them. I've been doing a bit of reading and it seems that this is a really common side effect, so I'm going to ask to try something else.

I used to be on topamax, which is an entirely different medication and it was great, but my god did it deserve it's nickname (dopamax) I had such a foggy head I could hardly remember my name. So, that's no good.

Are any of you on a medication which doesn't make you gain 300 lbs? Ok, I've gained about 15lbs but that's enough seriously.

Lucy get some rest, the feeling bad feels a million times worse when you're tired too, get an early night after a long soak in the bath and if needs be stay in bed half the day tomorrow. I get that sad knot sometimes too and I hate it more than anything.

I decided to not take tablets, but hopefully your Dr will be able to help you a bit more.

I think tiredness is half the problem, I am both mentally and physically exhausted at the moment, for no real reason. I'm glad that you are feeling a little better, cleaning the house sounds great, I really need to give mine a good spring clean I just don't have the energy.

No idea where the sad knot has come from, hopefully it will go away again.

Thank you for making me welcome - and also for the advice of looking through other threads!

I am finding I am really tired too, but then I am not sleeping particulary well at the moment. I havent been on my tablets long enough I guess to see a change in weight, but then I am not eating that much anyway - I dont when I am stressed!

You need to eat well and take care of yourself, that last thing you need is to get sick on top of everything else. Even if you just make sure you sit down to one really good meal a day and pick at food the rest of the time.

There is some fabby advice of the other threads and you will met some lovely people who will be willing to help to.

My problem is that I am ashamed of my debt and the fact that my relationship hasnt worked.

No one knows of my debt problems and I have had them about 7 years now - I have just plodded on juggle money, and pushing myself for promotion, which luckly I have succeeded in. However, the more I earn the more I have been silly and spent. I am a single parent with an ex husband who pays no maintenance and never has done. CSA have been useless!

Then you are definately in the right place! As you earn more there are pressures on you to spend more.

Have a go at your SOA and you will be amazed at what people can do with it. Try not to be ashamed, be proud that you have decided to face it and do something about it.

Someone will catch up with your Ex and hopefully he will be made to pay any arrears. I know they ended up taking the money direct from my Father's wages before he actually got them. Things will get better.

  • Hi everyone and also a big welcome to Piggy

You have definitely found a great site which will help when your down, up or just confused! Tablets are a way to help but they dont work overnight so keep taking them. They wont solve everything you need to work at it yourself but they do help give an extra boost.

You need to recognise that you are not a failure, how many relationships dont work, how many people have debt problems? You have worked hard and got the promotion you deserved and more importantly a lovely child(ren?) to spend time with and help grow up. Mine certainly give me something to work for even if they seem to cost a fortune!!

Learn to look after yourself, accept you are ill and need to work to get better. I have also joined a thread called something like "the good enough 2" for those of us who have no or little motivation.
