Cleaning white trainers

Squirt some W-U-L onto a wet nail brush and scrub the trainers, including the sides of the soles (even works really well with the foamy soles). Add a bit more water and keep scrubbing, then wipe off with an old cloth or kitcken roll.
Hello shopbot
My tip is similar to the above tip posted by Jay-Jay. I use a dampened nail brush and Cif cream. My trainers look like new for months/years using this method. I have never risked putting trainers in a washing machine........but I've never needed to because my cleaning method works for me.
One more tip I would offer is..............always air trainers or football boots after they've been worn. If you don't air them and instead you store them inside a sports bag or cupboard, they will be very sweaty and smelly.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Me too and don't have any problems.0 -
hi, i have some really nice pairs of trainers but they are looking a bit grubby, dont really wanna spend any pennies on new one so was wondering, does anyone know anything about putting trainers in the washing machine??
thanks :j0 -
I do this every so often, it brightens up my trainers a treat. I find it helps if you take the laces out completely and wash them in a pillowcase. Also if the inner sole isn't attached you need to take it out to dry thoroughly.
The only side-effects I've had are - the inside lining of the trainer wears a bit faster.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -
It's noisy as heck when you do it - put it on a cold wash and don't use softener as this damages the inner soles - hence the quicker wear!
But, it works well, again, let them dry naturally, don't tumble dry them or put them on a radiator as it may causes the linings to shrink.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
Hello shazzer22
I've never put trainers in the washing machine. I keep mine looking new by cleaning with cif cream. It brings them up like new.
If you let them air before putting them away in the cupboard, they'll never get smelly either.;)10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0
