i have been trying to find some nice trainers to hang around with on LXdirect... they either look tacky or are white or are for teenagers (bright pink? no thx)
Why is it so hard to find some nice not so sporty or trendy looking trainers?"Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

Unless of course you are made of moneyI get ASICS trainers for gym/running/everyday walking because i walk funny (overpronate) and they fix it so my arches stop getting inflamed. £75 per pair and they never last more than 18 months.
I'd love to get something cheaper but other makes with the same design to stop overpronation are even more expensive & insoles in a normal trainers don't work. The only alternative seems to be to stop walking anywhere.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -
Most boys trainers go up to a size 5. I've bought boys ones before, because I didn't want really girly ones! Here I go again on my own....0

My new washing machine came with a "sports shoe" cycle but im a bit scared to use it.Its perfectly safe to put them in a WM providing nothing loose is going to fall off them (some young girls trainers come with rhinestones on them) I much prefer to machine wash them as it fluffs up all the foam innards giving them their first wear padded-ness that i love.

I usually put kids trainers on a 30 degree wash and they come out fine, after a few times leather ones can 'crack' a littleI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I put our trainers in the washing machine(30-40 degrees) and they come out looking brand new."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

calleyw wrote:I agree as a woman I don't like white trainers. The last pair I bought where but they where £5 from tescos so I know they will not last for every and I am Mrs Skint and needed some trainers.
I perfer black or dark colours but of don't some gyms or squash courts etc don't like black soled shoes or something like that.
I have never found a decent replace for some black woman trainers I had about 10 years ago.

Keep an eye on M&S. Every now and again they do some lightweight black womens trainers which are cheap, really comfortable and supportive enough for the gym.
No good for for running though. Good excuse to give up running I thoughtMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
