Evening sorry to have neglected my diary.Had a quiet weekend last weekend a bit hungover but did see some friends for a quick round of golf. Electrics went out in the office but that has been fixed for free by the electrician which is good. New tv unit has been built looks great but doors do not fit properly. Getting new hinges so we shall see. Managed to get all the wires for the tv hidden looks nice now. Need to hang up some more pieces on the walls and also the new pictures for the dinning room. Will do a photo when it's done.Work is fine I really enjoy the new way we will be working and I said when asked that I would like to stay if the extent my contract. They do not know yet and they recon there will be cuts but good to know. Also of fab news out local hot tub suppliers ran a completion to win an accessories pack for the hottub. I forgot to enter last week but I did this week and dg entered too. Guess what she won such nice news on a Friday. Also dg got her works hamper luckily for me I like three of the things she doesn't.Right off to get DGs tree down from the loft and off to Lidl. Have a nice weekend.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Everything seems to be going your way at the moment TG. I hope it continues and includes an extended contract. That would be great, especially if you are enjoying the work at the moment. Fingers crossed for you, and congratulations on the wins!!

Thanks Tahlullah yes things seems to be moving in the right direction for work. No clue if the extent my contract or not but I’ve said I would love to stay and this area of work is really my bag finally.Dg got her winnings and it’s a fab prize worth £300. There was 4 ponchos not 1 so nice much better than dressing gowns and looks nice too hanging up.Dg had yesterday off it was the 2nd anniversary of her mums death. Not a good time as you can imagine but also it’s Xmas and two years ago I left her a few days afterwards to go to Denmark to be with my family for Xmas. It was planned and she was invited but obviously a horrible things to do to someone at that time and she’ll never forgive me. In my defence I was really struggling and needed my family. Need them now as well but can’t obviously so hoping I can go over in April fir my nieces confirmation for two weeks.Having my hair done today then Xmas shopping. Also need to sort out my niece and nephew.Going on a steam train ride tonight light up with loads of light. Really look forward to it.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Feeling rather crap actually Christmas got cancelled as although we are in tier 2 DGs family is in tier 4 so Christmas for two it looks like. Her aunt can come up here as she's in our bubble but she is miffed as we've cancelled Boxing Day which was meant to be at hers.Did get the Danish tree sorted out 75% off in Homebase got the last nice one so that was a bonus. Also now got my clocks up on the wall and the pictures are up in the dinning rooms. Feels very homely now. Lots of time to chill over Christmas with no guests but might give notice on the flat and empty it over Christmas as you're still allowed to move. Cannot see dg being forced back into the office any time soon and it's £400 a month wasted. Working the next two days so best get on with it.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Sorry you are feeling crap TG. This year has really taken it out of everyone in one form or the other. Things that would have ordinarily been brushed over as insignificant and seen as more of an irritation, are now blowing up into something the size of Quatermass.
I hope you manage to have the Christmas you want within the limits of Tier 2 when everyone else in in Tier 4.
The tree is lovely - very Danish! And the clocks are lovely. Glad your home is coming together the way you would wish.
Good plan to save money as well regarding the flat. I don't anticipate a return to the office or any form of past normal until at least April 20201.
Keep safe TG and have a good Christmas

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas even though there was only the two of us we made it nice and did all the food. Xmas eve was lovely as we live streamed with my family at the dinner table and around the tree. Xmas day we spoke to he South Africans and also DGs family here and in Seattle so quite international really. We also had drinks with the neighbours in the street on Xmas day that was fab too actually met a load more properly they are all really nice.Loads of food and puddings in particular plus sweets. Want to get out for a walk today as not left the house since 23/12. We are now in tier 4 too but golf stays open not really sure how that works. Also an issue as it's so wet you cannot take trolleys so need to carry and our carry bags are in London sadly. No real plans today other than chill maybe a bit of gardening need to tackle that side garden ready for the Spring makeover. Been a nice few days would rather have been with family and will miss new year which would have been with friends. Never mind it is what it is and we can just make the best out of it.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Not done a lot since I last updated been really nice just to chill out. Been out for a walk along the sea a couple of times rain and storm once but yesterday was nice chips on the sea front.Given notice on the London flat finally feels like the right decision but also applied for a parking permit so dg can easily park up there if she has to go into the office. So much admin to do moving all bank cards and car related stuff plus redirect the post. Still not done everything but will carry on today. I hope we will do a trip up while off for Xmas and then a final trip in January. I really want my carry bag for golf as they are not allowing trollies so cannot play.Today I want to get the real Xmas tree out and hopefully sort some garden stuff out if it doesn't rain.Been thinking about finances I really do not feel I save enough I have two regular savers Santander which matures next month £200 a month and First Direct £300 a month matures in March. Not sure if they will carry on but if not I need to carry on saving. Also started putting £50 into my Moneybox it's doing quite well so worth it rather than just the £5 a week plus round ups I was doing.I've got about £20k saved and £6k in those two savers that's it not a lot else. I need about £9 for the drive so feel with so few expenses I should be saving more. Might take a look at the MSE website and see if I can find anything or maybe take a punt at Premium Bonds again but they have just reduced the rates. Need easy access obviously.Thought I had put a picture of my lit tree on here seems not.Save £12k in 25 No 49
