  • Totally agree with you both. I'm wondering if it's worth me going back to the car park to take a photo of the entrance with the sign and double yellow lines? I think it's a valid point that stopping on double yellow lines would be a struggle to read that small sign and risky getting caught by traffic warden.
Le-Kirk - This has been my view from the beginning. They have made no mention in their WS about this particular issue. They just waffle on about a contract and terms and conditions on the signs, but that doesn't refer to this actual issue of these unclear bay markings in this case.

I will get these good points in on the bulleted list for my girlfriend to mention. I will get her to drill it into her head. :)

I think that you may be able to take an image from google maps. I could see the double yellows on google maps.

  • even better! Saves me a trip.
  • Will be printing this out for court for the contract being formed on entry. Anything to add?
  • Suggestion for the top text ... "Small sign, which is unreadable from a car".

I think that's a relatively large sign...and so might a Judge...can you not get a less stretched angle?

  • Once could argue that it's a verbose sign that a reasonable person cannot read and understand without either a) stopping on DYLs, or b) stopping on a pavement, to be able to be bound by the T&Cs.

What about approaching from the angle above? I don't think that it is a one way street. The sign is tilted.

IMHO the idea of reading a sign whilst driving is ridiculous. You cannot process that information and keep your eyes on the road.  You are not suppose to be looking at anything other than the road.  You could not stop because you would be on double yellow lines.

This is just another point but if all goes well the judge will consider those spaces at the end "have all the hallmarks of a parking space". Alternatively Excel may pull at the last minute to avoid paying the rep fee.
