Morning all!
Dawn - I'm sorry to hear about your SiL's dad and friend x
Hooray for "Saturday". Lots of things to do today before OH is working 6 days in a row! (This completely unheard of. It's unusual for him to even do 2 days in a row). Three days of teaching and 3 days of gigging.
We are going to meet a friend for lunch in nearby big town today and do some errands/Christmas shopping while we're at it. There are a couple of things that I can't get locally for a good price.
Today's mission:
:heartpuls B/D from stores
:heartpuls OH to get hair cut - done
:heartpuls Put huge pile of washing away - done
:heartpuls Heating off until we get home later - done
:heartpuls Dye my hair as it's a state - done. Always a much easier job than I expect.
:heartpuls Tidy round - done
:heartpuls Dust utility room - done
:heartpuls Dust living room and porch
:heartpuls Make meal plan
:heartpuls Do shopping list
:heartpuls Reconcile budget sheet - done
:heartpuls Knit some more of my niece's Christmas sock - done
Have a good one all

Morning. Well, I'm sitting here wondering where to start.
I've checked the banking and moved the pennies
Emailed my brother
Messaged my cousin and nephew
Dinner and lunch are in the fridge
Some more packaging to go the recycling bin
Really, really must give the kitchen and bathroom a good clean
Make a shopping list for tomorrow (not much to buy, I think)
Some ironing to put away (been meaning to do that for days)
That should keep me busy for a bit.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

Hi Everyone
It's been a good few months since I've posted and life has changed a bit. After a rocky road getting here we're expecting a baby in February! We've saved up some money to cover essential purchases and I've guestimated how much maternity leave I'll be able to take (still waiting on payroll figures!). We rely on my income so I'll not be taking the full 12 months off, but as hubby is at home full-time we'll not have to pay for childcare when I do go back. It's a scary but exciting time.
I'm annoyed at myself this month as I've wasted money on (decaf) coffees and little bits from the shops when I've not been organised to pack lunches. This has resulted in too much month left to go and not enough money left in our food budget! Luckily we have £100 in cash put aside to last until next Thursday as my parents are visiting at the weekend and this is our budget to cover that. We'll be doing a food shop tonight and I'll write a list before we set off. It's difficult to stick to lists when all the yummy Christmas stuff is in the shops. Food is definitely an area we overspend in.
Talking of Christmas (sorry) this year I have budgeted a set amount for the people I'm buying for, putting money aside each month since January. I've had to get parents'/ grandparents' stuff as we won't see them again until next year so at least that's all sorted and within budget.
Today I've brought lunch to work and have checked my online banking/ spending book. I've also been listening to Dave Ramsey at work. I'll make a concerted effort to post on here as it really does help keep my motivation up!

congratulations p_p! Hope you have a very contented pregnancy
so it's a blog about a household method. You do 30 mins hw a day Mon-Fri a different room each day, and have a few daily tasks that take me about 15 mins a day & I spread throughout the day. I set a timer for 30 mins and when it goes off I finish the task I'm doing and put everything away. Has been great as you know 45 mins tops a day, and if oh is helping then it'll be even less. My house has never looked more clean and orderly!

Morning all!
Happy to report that despite the massive downpour and hailstones, I wrapped myself up to walk into work.. only I didn't get rained on! Not as bothered on the way home but didn't want to sit soggy all day! I also worked out that by parking for free, I have effectively given myself a 4% after tax/NI etc pay rise! (Although there will be the odd day where I need to pay to park).
So today I have/will:
* Check banks
* Make lunch to take to work
* Cash out £1.42 on TCB
* Park for free and walk into work
* Check PA/OP
* Review spreadsheet and see if I can make any CC payments
* Start on my spreadsheet for next month
* Consider balance fee free balance transfer (only a small amount left on the card which I'm hoping to clear this month anyway so not sure)
* Go to gym at lunch
* Dinner from stores
* Do some more crochet - aiming to get this project finished this weekend (and then onto the next one - only 12 more to go!!)
Think that's everything! Although (as I don't like updating from my phone) does anyone else get annoyed when you do these types of things and they're not on your list?!?! Hope you all have a good day!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Morning folks
Congratulations to princess_pea on your pregnancy
I'm not feeling too hot here. I didn't feel good all yesterday afternoon and I had a funny sleep. But I think I have a bit of a cold, and it might be due to my flu jab. Today I have a hospital app with ENT, then I'm going over to mil's unless I feel worse.
Today's mission:
:heartpuls B/L/D from stores - done
:heartpuls Roast b/nut squash for making pie later - done
:heartpuls Take pie ingredients and tin to mil's - done
:heartpuls Big purchase of new dehumidifier made. I waited til black Friday but no deals unfortunately. 1.5% cashback buying it via my contents ins provider though. - done
:heartpuls Check PMP - done
:heartpuls Maybe some knitting - done
Only a small list. Off to rest up
