£80.60 vanished at the market this morning, but that should have bought everything we need for a week, as well as a tray full of mushrooms for the dehydrator.
Main meals planned as follows: tonight we'll have salmon steaks with the last of our own HG "new" potatoes & a veg medley. Tomorrow there are just 3 of us so it's a good day for omelette. Sunday we'll be 6 & I have two small chickens to roast, which will also "do" a bone-broth for soup lunches. Monday, back to 4 of us, & it's cauli-brocco-macaroni cheese with beans. Tuesday will be a chicken-leftovers night, more than likely biryani, and Wednesday it'll feature in a stir-fry. Thursday, as usual, will be baked potatoes with any leftover leftovers! There are some in the freezer from previous weeks if needed - lamb tagine, chilli, beef stroganoff etc.
OH takes leftovers into work for lunch; I tend to have soup or salad, and DD2 has "dirty rice" or egg-noodle or salad. DD1 eats at work. Breakfasts are pancakes with jam or fresh fruit, poached eggs on toast, HM cinnamon buns or toast.
Running out of bananas and/or bread is the "risk" point for further expenditure, & I need to re-stock with frozen veg to put my mind at rest for later in the month.Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
£24.18 spent of the £150 budget £7.70 was cat food
A further £40.80 spent takes my total up to
£64.98 spent of £150 budget £14.35 cat food and more cat food to buy.
Main spends were £5 on butter - only offer was 2 for £5 - we've tried cheaper but prefer this. £4 on crisps for Mr Socks - hoping they'll last a few weeks (4 big bags but he eats 1 in 1 go )
£14.30 on cheese  4 big blocks bought as the offer was very good and when i was ill i was upset spending a bit on a block locally so these will be used but will also last into January which is good. Additionally all Xmas cheeses now bought unless Mr Socks finds themSo i'm happy we have our treaty xmas food and just need the crackers now.
More cat food to buy - main spends were treats which we use to hide poorly cats medication in £6.65 spent there and i don't begrudge a penny of it.
Phew! All up to date until tomorrow - cat food only is what i should be reporting back - unless i spot cheapy veg for a soup.1st May 2025

Starting a bit late for December but aiming for £300 again, have come slightly under the last couple of months but am now including all eating out which might prove a challenge during December. Hoping that the week of eating at other people's houses might offset that though!0

Weekly shopping today and bought a wreath. Spent £41 in total so have a balance of £56 left for the rest of the month. Two more weekly shops left for me so I’ve got my normal £25 per week allocation. The freezer is jam packed and there are 4 portions of chicken ready in the slow cooker so fingers crossed I make it!SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)0

Thats my 2nd shop just ordered and will be paid for tomorrow it came to £100.92 wich is really good as I got alot of party nibbles in ahead of time and also some food for son while we are away. So the coming weeks should be smaller than expected to reflect that... fingers crossed.
Have a lovely week everyone

A proper food shop done today. Have everything in I need for this weeks food plan except what I will need to make steak pie next weekend, but it will only be a small amount of veg needed and some pastry.
With the wee nips to the shop last week and the food shop today we have spent £29 which isn't too bad. We now have £62 left to do us until 25th which is when OH would normally be paid and marks the start of our new month. I am really pleased with this. Our food budget has been spent within the first two weeks of the month and needing topped up for the last few months. It feels good to be keeping on top of it again.
Dinner today is a nice easy one with sausage roll and chips and tomorrow and Monday we will have Gammon joint done in the slow cooker with veg and HM roast potatoes. I'm also making a quiche, which will be sliced up to have for lunch next week with a side of beans.0 -
£9.14 in asda including a (teeny tiny!) tree for £3. Still managing to live out of my freezer - went to a picnic last week and managed to walk off with a lot of the leftovers so very grateful for that! £24.72 left for the month.Grocery Challenge

OH is having cheesy pasta tonight for dinner.

£54.31/£215.
£160.69 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0
