Cat food got purchased and a 40p reduced item - 15% of original price
I feel a little alarmed now at how much has been spent already  We are on the 8th today and my month is until the 26th. So really 2 weekends between now and then and I have just bought all the xmas cheese early. Although a bit of a fail on that as Mr Socks found it  and worse... has been eating it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It is there to be eaten really but i just hope there is a nice bit left for Xmas day. I didn't want to leave it until nearer the time as i am trying to avoid a full on shop between now and xmas.
I just need: bread, milk, potatoes and cat food each week. Next week's extras are crackers to go with the cheese and anything which we run out of. Week after extras are a chicken and leeks. Let's do this!1st May 2025

I did my meal plan so this is the second shop of the month - spent 57.09 - should be OK until next week.
Also spent out of my 'bulk buying fund' chestnuts which when cooked and frozen should last the year, also bought on offer 6 x goat milk Camembert, cut them into quarters and froze them (I'm allergic to cow cheese but OK with goat) It should last me at least two months.
So far so good and I've enough in the cupboards to make a couple of cakes plus enough on the veg plot (leeks, carrots, parsnips, celery, potatoes) and in the freezer to make soup plus making some meals 'in advance' to freeze.
I need to get ahead with making meals to freeze as I'm in hospital again in Jan. This is the third year in a row I've had an op in Jan/Feb. It's the only time I'm ever waited upon. Last year my DH collected me from Hospital, drove home, helped me into the house and said "What's for tea", my reply was.......... so having some meals ready to defrost and heat in the microwave really helps. I realistically need about a month supply.0 -
Hi all
Had to nip to Morries yesterday as ds had eaten every item of food that could possibly be conceived of as breakfast. Managed to get lots of yellow sticker carrots whilst I was there, so it'll be soup week here! Also bought a few bits and bobs that I can't get in Alds or Lids so that took me to £5.72.
I am finding that only taking that week's cash out with me is really helping as i knew I had £6 left for the week, so it stopped me from buying 'treats' which we didn't need.
I'm working at home today so it's leftover chilli for lunch. Dinner is already in the slow cooker - yellow sticker lamb from the freezer with the yellow sticker carrots, onions, garlic and pearl barley. Plus lots of thyme and rosemary from the garden.
Depending on the apple situation - son eats so bloomin many - hopefully next shop will be tomorrow!Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020
