  • £28.42 added, bringing my total so far to £183.82. That isn't actually what I spent in a quick dash to L!dls this morning; it's about a third of it, but the rest belongs to the Christmas budget, which so far is bang on track. The £28.42 was ordinary household stuff like chick peas, everyday flour, orange juice etc.

And my first nod towards the impending festivities was to bake the first batch of mince pies this year; I normally get going at the very start of December because I love them so, but for some reason couldn't get my head around it this year. Now, though - let the celebrations begin!

  • Hi everyone
Still keeping on track with food spends, a new week started today, so leftover money put into holding pot and new £35 put into purse. Went to Tosco with a list and spent 23.44, so the remainder is to last until until the end of next Tuesday. Should be able to that as I have quite a bit of food in. On the Xmas front Im hoping not to buy anymore food than a normal week but as I have budgeted for a bigger spend I will wait and see nearer the time. Feeling positive.

I made 4 dozen mince pies this week and froze 3 dozen, ready to bake when needed. I sold the other dozen to a lady locally for a donation to the Charity I support. She has also frozen them, ready for when she has friends round. Used my homemade mincemeat too!

  • Hi all,
Spent £140.10 so far this month, with all my shopping orders booked for delivery. At the moment the 5 deliveries come to £207.94 so I should be well within the budget of £400 for the 5 of us.

I’ve spent £27.15 in Ald1 tonight so just short of £30 left. I’ve done a meal plan through to new year so next week I don’t need much; veg, bread, milk etc as there are plenty of batch meals in the freezer.

I'm over budget at £312.86/£300 not sure why apart from I haven't been keeping a close eye on my spending.

I have a week of food spending to do and then most of the food for Christmas week is covered from anther budget as I have guests from Sunday 22nd until Friday 27th. My new month starts 27th as this would be our proper pay day if we were not getting paid early as I don't touch the month's money until then.

We will be mainly eating out of the freezer this coming week as I need to make more room for festive food/feeding the hoards and shouldn't need much more than milk and bread which will limit the damage somewhat.
