I would still need to grout them to make it all level Skinty.

As long as I avoid my one foot, at the moment I'm fast running out of toes; I may have had a go at the monster tree stump a few days ago and got the toe next to the one I bounced off the bed 😂
I've been nominated to babysit, nipped over after work with some grass / herbs and that was munched on. Got frisked when I got home to make sure I didn't pinch them.
Remembered when I got there I should have taken a bag of compost for SIL and a pot with compost to take the baby strawberries. Will do that when I pop over tomorrow.
Must put the garlic in tomorrow.
Had the internet guy out today, seems like he has fixed it.
Third pension is in my SIPP, hopefully stocks will be purchased within a few days.

Looks like the rainy season is upon us!
Hopefully it will ease so I can get the garlic in.
-- must make final decisions about how to plant up next year to get the best out of all the space.
'Upgraded' my phone to SIM only today. 2 year contract for £10. Could have got a £5 contract but when I'm back commuting I will need sufficient data to pass the time, check schedules etc.
I did the bathroom yesterday, will do the kitchen later, for now I'm going to read more magazines.
Not got much energy today as I had an hour sleep, got up then a few hours later TomBo got up for work.

I agree with Skint-y - our lino upstairs is laid on plywood that was cut to size - to give the best fit. My fitters did it for me - charged me an extra £100 for the privilege but it was money well spent (bathroom and ensuite). Could your OH create a plywood base or would it raise your kitchen floor too much compared to the room next to it?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

The tiles would need to come up as they already act as a 'step' from the hall to the kitchen, same with the bathroom. Both are potential trip hazards.
Laying ply on top of the kitchen floor tiles will raise the floor further and need some taken off the bottom of the (original or vintage) kitchen door, which isn't something I want done.
It's not as if the tiles went down, then the kitchen was put in.
Don't take this the wrong way, I'm weighing up TomBo's DIY skills against the projects. I appreciate I've a headstart because of doing loads over the years, but from what I'm seeing it's more 'miss' than 'hit'.
He has enthusiasm, can't fault him for that, but is it wrong for me to want to live in a nice property for the first time in my life?
We are lucky having somewhere we can add 'value' in case we do move. We wouldn't have got this so cheap if it had been modernised.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
You deserve to live in a lovely home. Just take your time with the floor & getting the tiles up. Do you have any steel toe capped boots to protect your toes 😆 I am lucky when we put lino in our small bathroom DF boarded it out first. He’s v handy at DIY & has saved me a fortune in tradespeople costs over the years.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Haha Skinty, if I did I wouldn't have done my other toe 😂
-- gut feeling is the tiles won't be too hard to get up, i may have a trial run and see if they are on the floor or just stuck onto the old lino.
Kind of missing not having my sibling on hand to do some of my plans, or for ease of borrowing equipment!
Did my babysitting duties and popped to A1D1 on the way home, spent just over £37 and will it need veg the rest of this month. Picked up a tin of gloss white paint for the lounge skirting / door, so I've got no excuse for not finishing the lounge off now.
TomBo is striping all the tomatoes, peppers and runner beans off after work tomorrow, then he will breakdown the greenhouse and pack it away. When the weather eases, I can get the patio organised (again) ready for next year.

Hello it feels like ages. Well done on babysitting and sorting out all your investments. I dont know what a Sipp is and those other funny words? But they sound great. I can't believe you and Tombo are still gardening, I gave up about 3 weeks ago. My greenhouse is full of green tomato plants and i dont know what to do with them!!!
Whilst the lazy's like me are resting you are thinking about the floor that sounds like a project indeed. It is chucking down with rain here i hope it is better by you.Aiming for a minimal spend 20221 -
It seems like months SW, but it's only a week. I know you're busy with work.
SIPP is a self invested personal pension. I've dropped some of my pensions in from old jobs. I can't do any worse managing it than what I've seen the old providers do.
S&S ISA is a stocks & shares individual savings account.
Been through the last few pages of my diary and haven't spotted anything else, but do point it out and I will say what it is.
If we want to be self-sufficient, we need to be on top of the garden all year round.
The rain hasn't stopped today and won't until the middle of next week 🙈
