Thank you Ren. I wouldn't have seen myself in this position 4 years ago!
Today a pulled a carrot up, that's slowly stewing with brisket and other veg.
I've had a potter round the garden and one of the flat neighbours came along for a catch-up. TomBo is to dig his apple / cherry trees out, if possible, and I'm having them. I need to buy some big pots; I'm not planting them in the garden after all the effort it's taken to get rid of all the other trees / stumps (and still taking with the monster stump!).
Been volunteered to plant the garlic tomorrow after work, will have to start splitting the bulbs later.
I can change my phone contract to SIM only in a few days, saving nearly £25 a month 🤗
- this is the only money saving thing left to do and where I can trim some fat.

How lovely to get some trees from the neighbours - I agree though they can easily get out of hand. Could you train them to grow sideways like an 'espalier' tree on a frame or are they too established? I want to try and plant some daffodil bulbs soon. I think we will want that jolt of colour in the spring. Good luck with the garlic planting. Great to move to sim only.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks SH. They seem quite young still (under 6ft), but I want to be move them around the patio for shade. That's only if TomBo can get them out ok.
You've just reminded me I need to put the tulips out! Daffodils are great when they pop up 🤗
- will do that when I do the garlic (didn't do it today as it's rained all day).
TomBo decided to take a lower kitchen cupboard out today, painted the now exposed wall and moved the fridge from the pantry to the space. He's now admitted he doesn't like the floor / wall tiles!
- I'm getting grout and tile paint to do both November. Not sure what colour to do the floor, but will do the wall tiles white.
- Gives me time to finish the lounge woodwork in October.
Second pension has transferred in, the third one seems to be on its way.

Stick on tiles could be another option for the floor. Some pretty ones showing up in newsfeeds from Dun31m. I have a dark floor in my kitchen and was unsure before moving in but I love it and don't want to change it now. I do however need to use wire wool or something to get various splodges of acrylic paint off it (oops). Or buy a rug for under the table when we sell to hide it LOL.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you SH and Skinty.
What I want TomBo to do is take the floor tiles up and I get lino fitted or paint the floor; there is industrial paint for floors. I've done it on a car garage repair shop floor before (pre-disabled days).
Instead, the current plan is to grout the floor tiles, key them and then paint.
They are mosaic style, every gap can be felt when walking on them and they are a navy blue type colour; they go so well with the brown cupboards, grey tops and white walls 🙈🙊🙉 (apologies to anyone who has this combination!), So stickers won't work unless 100% flat.
I'm trying to talk myself out of buying a chisel and lifting the floor ones myself!
-- remember, I've never liked this kitchen 😉
I preferred what was left of the 60s / 70s lino, which was revealed yesterday, then subsequently binned. A yellow / brown funky pattern.
What is good, I did a lot of internet searching about painting floors / floor tiles and think I've found the perfect stencil / pattern to go onto the floor if I take the tiles up, it's very in-keeping with the age of this flat 🤗 just have to try and find it again today 😁
The garden plans are expanding, starting to get very exciting for next year and I'm hoping to pick up some form of seating in the summer sales; I resisted when I went to the garden centre and kind of regret that now 🤨
It's going to be raining all day today, so it's a quick pop and check everything day after work. Tomorrow is supposed to be good 😊Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
TomBo is now asking if I would be happy with lino over the floor tiles 😬 been looking for something classic / fitting for the age.
Will still paint the wall tiles.
CC has now been paid off in full.
Second pension is in the SIPP and funds purchased.
Received a reminder about the S&S ISA transfer form. Re-printed, signed, photographed, sent back and posted it. Hopefully they will receive this one.
Went to the garden and picked some tomatoes, pepper and runner beans. Will be cooking the tomatoes and pepper tomorrow.
Trying to keep everything on the plants for as long as I can, but paying very close attention for any changes.
Still got salad and root veg in the garden.
Will try and make a start on the lounge cupboards. Going to look and see if I can safely get the doors off / on as they will be easier to sand down.
Had roast pork, spuds and my runner beans for tea.

Lovely to have harvest from your garden. I never did get any peppers even though they flowered.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

SH, peppers seem like too much effort for not much return, unlike everything else. I now know why they are not a very cheap product to buy. Needless to say, I won't be taking up space trying again next year and will stick to buying them 😊
Today looks promising, as it's not raining and the sun is popping up. Looks like I'm planting garlic after work!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
If you put lino over the floor tiles won’t you feel them & mark the lino from underneath so you can see them? Hope you have better weather than us today!0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
