Sorry to hear you have been feeling so unwell. Seeds & gloves sound fab.Good idea to keep a notebook. My dad has an A4 hardback notebook & keeps a page for each month of what needs to be planted in the allotment & the date he puts them in each year. Also the date they should become ready for eating & the date he starts picking / eating each crop.Hope you are feeling better today.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Thank you SW and Skinty. I have to learn to accept I have fluctuating health 🙈
Made the mistake of trying to figure out what is needed and how to do it with three parts I want to repair / tidy up when I went to bed; my sandstone window surrounds, communal hallway walls and communal floor.
Ended up getting back up as my head was working a million things out.
Needless to say I've found what I need to do to the surrounds (a sandstone and lime pollyfilla type material) and floor (concrete), just need to have a look at the wall and see what material was used, then that's planned too.
So far it's about £20 for the two tubs.
Once the communal walls and floors are tidy I can then get the paint and do the walls / ceilings. Painting will be spring through to summer and I can book time off to do it.
OH has isn't feeling well today (I suspect hangover) and has gone back to bed. He was a bit thirsty last night 🤭 shame as it's a nice day today!
Just have to wait and see how the day pans out.

Hey Babs
Well impressed at your achievements, but, sorry to read of your body fighting you back... I aspire to your organisational skills!
Had to giggle at your OH trying to dodge the rain, mentally can't see him as Rambo now, definitely more a Tom! I mean, Rambo would not run in the greenhouse, he would be yelling at the sky and shaking his fist in defiance, wouldn't he? He he...."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

I hope Rambo is better. What you are planning to do sounds very exciting. I have jobs that need doing round the house and would not even know where to start but you have started me thinking.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

Thanks Ren and SW, Tombo is better and admitted it was the beer 😂
SW, if you need pointers on how to do things, list what the 'problem' is and between us we can say how to fix things. Even Tombo was surprised when I listed the few things off, what I needed to buy and how much I've priced it up at 😁

Hello ladies, i hope you are having a good day. No sun here so it is a bit grotty. I hope it gets better. MF, I love the name Tombo. lol. They are quite big jobs i think. The paint is peeling in the porch due to damp (our street is built on clay soil) and it needs repainting. I think it is a job for the summer. I am also thinking about what i will need to do in the garden next year as i just dont have time to look after it.Aiming for a minimal spend 20224

I think Tombo is a very apt name, somehow I have to not giggle when I write it 😁
SW, you need a damp seal paint put on first. It's very thick and stinks, then paint over as normal. I would still recommend you break your garden down into sections. Even if it's a giant lawn with flower borders, or large patio, lawn with borders. Sit down with a pad and pencil, draw out ideas and one will click 🤗

It's been a cool sunny day here, interesting cloud formation.
Tombo sent money to me yesterday. We had a quick financial chat about the mortgage and maximum overpayments. He isn't interested in knowing about the savings, as long as we have some and they are increasing, same with the pension and pension cash.
Had a bit of fun working out how much our expenses would be if the mortgage was paid off and we were both working within walking distance of our flat. We could live off £500 a month and run the existing car, anything over that would be paid into savings. The biggest bill would be the council tax, which after the mortgage is the next highest payment each month now.
Found that quite eye-opening, but I know we are in the minority.
I'm seriously tempted to try for an allotment as I think we have a good chance at doing the good life. Several years on the waiting list, in that time clear the mortgage, get the allotment and sort the land out ready to grow, both of us work PT and tend to the allotment and garden round our working hours. Sounds like a great plan to me 😁
£150 paid off the CC, £230 to go.
Can start moving money to savings in the morning as it's the 1st of the month.
Having steak sausage, chips and chilli sauce for tea as Tombo is working.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
