I am swaying towards white due to it fitting in with the 'blank canvas' lounge I'm doing, thank you SH 😊

  • I’d paint it all white. Walls, ceiling & skirting. No need to worry about cutting in then 😂

Definitely paint them white, and as a contrast to the walls.  Those lovely deep  skirtings need to  be   celebrated rather than blended  in.

    Hi Babs
I love the character of older homes, it's great to imagine you revealing the past history and restoring your place, hopefully finding some original treasures. I remember the thrill of discovery and uncovering years of bodges/'improvements' on the older houses I have lived in. Once removed an old hot water cylinder as replacing the boiler/central heating with mains fed combi-boiler, and finding a beautiful cast iron bedroom fireplace behind it... Got it sand blasted from years of it being over-painted, and it revealed an amazing art nouveau design, carefully replaced into the chimney breast of the bedroom.... good times.... but hard graft. Good luck with mission re-decorate/restore! :D You are making the place your home, with all the tlc you are giving to it, bringing it back to life. And of course, doing it the MSE way, budget-busting!

Thanks Ren, how wonderful seeing the old fire 🤗 I'm hoping there will be something when I unveil the covered chimney hole, although I'm not confident there will be, at best there will be a hole.
So far I've discovered the old wallpaper / paint as it's hidden away in a cupboard and been ignored for decades 🤭

Have meeting fatigue, three is too much in one day!

My prescriptions have got messed up and I ended up bursting out crying after walking out the drs trying to get it sorted out. Waiting on new prescriptions.

OH has ordered the compost and mulch for the growing section, should arrive next week. He's going to have his work cut out moving a few tons down to the garden 🙈

Had pie and chips for tea, yoghurt for pudding.

Thanks SH, one set of meds has been sorted out, there's a debate with the other. I don't like the side effects of the tablets, this Dr doesn't want to prescribe the soluble version because of the salt content. Needless to say I'm feeling very ill from the side effects as I had run out and couldn't deal with the pain increasing.
--Don't know what's worse, the pain or the med effects, both make it a huge struggle to work.

BG complaint has resulted in £20 to us for not meeting customer satisfaction. Apparently they're getting tons of complaints and when the outsourced contract expires they are looking to bring the work back to the UK.

Been looking around at cheaper ways to get to work, when I return, and have shaved nearly £70 off the monthly commute cost, makes it a more realistic £133ish a month instead 🤫
-- budget reworked to account for the extra money.

OH went to check on the garden this morning and had to hide in the greenhouse as the sky opened up and came down heavy. This afternoon he went out to get herbs for tea and the same thing happened 🙈

Going to attempt to sand the second lounge unit and the skirting in that section the weekend.

£1 in the bank, payday tomorrow.

Pork and veg for tea, yoghurt for pudding.
