Thank you Skinty and SH
Thought I was being clever drafting and saving my post over a couple of days, checking no other replies were posted before I submitted mine, that didn't work as planned!
I want a face2face chat as it's hard discussing things by message and I'm sure misunderstanding have happened.
I'm hoping to condense my equipment into the largest trolley so I just have to take that to / from the salon. However, I'll see how it works out as some of the electricals are bulky. I'm very reluctant to use what she has due to the 'mix and not match' approach she has and I'm also used to my own things.
I honestly thought it was going to be that price for one day, which would be ok if I had use of the room when I wanted rather than slotting clients around or if I'm allowed to replace a chair for one suitable for my treatments.
Believe it or not, I'll be doing an hour longer over my 'beauty work week' than I do in one day job day! So will still have lots of free time for TomBo , cat, gardening, 2nd home, R&R, some mobile work etc.
I've got the blame for everything going belly up, again, in my day job. TomBo sent me a link to a job, banding one below mine, it's FT, but doing exactly my former career work. I will be applying for it and a few others I've earmarked including a PT job.
Course time has changed again so I'll have the chance to fill my belly at McD; I'll take a note pad to finalise prices and draft a bio while having breakfast. I've received the manual, will print and file it first thing, outfit is sorted and a couple of models are going to be lent to me. I'll take my own kit as that's what I need to learn with, I also rate the pre / post hair removal creams having used them on me.
- might see if I can get a treatment bed while out.
I designed a logo with VP today, just need to decide on business cards and get a poster done to hang at the butchers.
- Debating a loyalty card, or maybe just stick with special offers. Your thoughts?
Now, on to the best bit, donut, fudge top, packed with custard 😋 my guilty pleasure 🤭

I agree face to face is probably a good idea to avoid misunderstandings.Sorry to hear about the carp being flung your way at work. Good luck with the job applications. You deserve better.Cake sounds yummy 😋0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I do hope that you find another job soon, it sounds like they really dont deserve you. Could you go part time and then ramp up the beauty side quicker than planned?Ive never used a loyaly card, never needed to. But have used special offers when I was setting up in a new area. Only advice here would be to put the end date on it. My old dears keep all the flyers for years and then ring me up expecting a special offer 3 years later!!!!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Thanks Skinty and FP
Can't go PT as there's no one to take the hours, I took hours so my mate could reduce theirs. However, I'm thinking of trying to build my client base quickly and if my contract isn't extended go full into beauty.
Advert offers I run with end dates and I'd do the same with any posters I put up. I've seen it too many times in my volunteer role where people think offers are valid years after they were first mentioned.
I had salon envy today. Imagine a small bungalow, open plan kitchen / lounge (waiting area) and 1 bedroom (beauty room). We discussed how quaint it would be as a home and how to turn the facilities into a small wet room / loo. It was a purpose built building, never a home, and the perfect dream salon for me!
Anyhow, the course went really well, got on fantastically with the trainer, demo model and the three models I was given. I was closely supervised with M1, watched from afar for M2 and left to get on with M3 with discreet observation. Needless to say I passed with flying colours and high praise.
Afterwards, I popped to the local to that salon trade beauty, same company as I go to by home. They had a lot of things my local doesn't and I took advantage of it. Also spent a good while chatting to one of the staff. Unexpectedly, he said I'm halfway there with my business as I'm easy to talk with and kept the chat going. That was nice to hear as I get a lot of compliments in my day job from the people I deal with (not employees) and I wasn't 100% sure about face to face as I can clam up.
I dropped an old mantle clock to someone who put a post up last night asking for them as they want to get into clock and watch repairs. Turns out I can see their home from mine 🤭 and I got to explore my village a bit.
TomBo got us Chinese for tea, I had chicken curry and rice.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
I didn't get up until nearly 9am today 😯
Had a vanilla latte for breakfast and ordered printer paper, laminator and the sheets for it. They've just been delivered.
TomBo has put more little shelves in the bathroom for me and I've organised my toiletries. He has made a shelf for the lounge and will fit it tomorrow.
While TomBo was busy I emptied my two trolleys. A bit of careful planning, having everything placed by each section, finding little plastic boxes and tubs and filling them with items, measuring and adding some foam for electricals. The big trolley now holds everything I'd need for waxing, threading, tinting, facials and lash lifts 😃
- I'll merge my nail systems and fill the smaller trolley tomorrow as my lower body couldn't do any more.
I tried my towel warmer / steamer and it's great. I'll get a lot of personal use out of it too. I even tried one of the disposable face mits.
TomBo had popped to the shop and said my reward was in the kitchen; a selection of cakes including bakewell tart and something that I can only describe as a bakewell base with a good helping of jam, topped with a French fancy. I made a latte to go with them.
- I've the cherry-less bakewell with brown criss-cross and a pineapple version of the other left.
I messaged someone about a massage bed, no reply. I'll try a few more people and tomorrow I'll contact the only person who previously replied to me, see if she still has it and arrange to get it; she never contacted me after saying she'll let me know when she's home.
Asked in a local group for recommendations, I need to get my beauty electricals tested. Immediate reply from the guy I gave the clock to! He'll do all the certs and testing for free as he's so pleased with the clock.
- turns out it's about 100 years old 😯
To do list for the week:
- add price list to SM (Sunday)
- write bio for SM and insurance listing
- combine / sort nail equipment (Sunday)
- tidy away spares (Sunday)
- colour remainder of hair
- start workshop learning
- pop to 2nd home
- buy folding bed
- finish waxing legs
- laminate qualification certificates (Sunday) ✓
- do paper pricelist / poster
We had fried gnocchi topped with a spicy tomato sauce and a slice of real bread to mop up. Delicious.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
You obviously needed a lie in!Was the clock worth anything? It’s good that the guy you gave it to can return the favour with the electric tests & certs

I must have Skinty!
I don't think it was as I purchased it as a non-working clock. When I handed it over I was told the older generation family had one like it, so I've assumed it's more sentimental than value and a good one to practice repairing.
- I'm dropping all my beauty electric items off in the morning.
Business cards and a few other 'branded' items including a mug have been ordered. Opted for free delivery and they should arrive in a couple of weeks. I ordered coloured paper from 3bay and will design a template for posters and my price list which will be in my brand colour.
- I'll do a poster each month for the butcher and change the paper colour so it stands out as being a new ad and potentially catch more clients.
