I did pop to 2nd home first thing yesterday. More G/H glass has vanished, no broken glass anywhere so it's not storm related.
I had to refit a sheet of plastic to my GH as the storm blew that out. Also had to fix fencing at the end of my plot.
My onions are growing well and herbs in little pots survived the very low temps and hard frosts.
I'll be tending to it all again soon and decided to focus on growing in the three sections I was clearing last year. Finish getting the new boundary fence in place and can gently clear the fourth section throughout the year so it's ready for 2025.
My Tay berry cuttings have a decent root system and I need to get those potted up. I also have to check when my seeds need sowing and get those underway over the next few months.
When we have proper daylight / longer days of light I'll be popping down after my day job and first thing on days I'm not working.
The garden is doing well too, I'll get veg going in that soon, garlic and onions are happy as are the fruit trees and bushes, and TomBo is currently teaching himself stone wall building. I'm hoping this is the year the patio is useable!
Day job is still the same, I'm keeping my head down and getting on with what I'm being paid to do 🤭
I'm rejigging budgets monthly and focused on a larger O/P and clearing my CC, with reduced savings for the next few months aside from the car everything pot. I'll have travel costs refunded next week and it'll get paid out as an O/P.
I'm still determined to clear the mortgage quickly as it opens financial freedom for both of us and we're edging closer to the good life 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

Word of mouth is so important. Sounds like you're off to a great start.
Irritating about the greenhouse glass. Do you think someone is nicking it?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you FP and SH
Yes SH, I do think it's being taken, this is the second time now. Frustrating as there's abandoned plots where missing glass wouldn't be noticed!
FP I debated for ages how to 'play on my first name' for a business name eg name's personal touch, touched by a name and it felt like I'd be advertising the 'wrong' kind of services. I've played it safe and just gone with name na1ls & b3auty.
I'm currently working on a bio and will incorporate about the client's comfort is paramount, perhaps even say something about adapting for physical pain and movement restrictions etc. I'll be drafting ideas throughout the week and open to input 😃
Today's client was a steep learning curve, super high anxiety and a nail biter; I was even more careful and while I wasn't happy with all my work she was over the moon and on the phone / messaging people afterwards telling them about it. I had an impromptu client DD of C2 and found my swing; again not 100% perfect and I have to remember it's only my 3rd set on people since qualifying 😊
- I've offered a return date and will swot up on how to do perfect nails when encountering these types of nails again.
I had worked out my prices this morning, not public yet, and was paid just over what I will be charging; I declined several times and it was left for me to find when loading my car ☺️
- I need to open a business account and get the money deposited. I'll leave it to build up and not 'take a wage' as it will allow me to rent a space, gain further qualifications, cover insurance, tax bill etc. My day job income will continue to be used for normal outgoings.
Although I'd gone off the idea of being mobile due to the amount of gear I potentially need to take on visits, and mentally designed a salon room, I'm actually physically coping with it. I'd not be getting the client's I am if I was salon based due to their health.
Word of mouth is the way forward, as we all feel better having personal recommendations with services.
Wax course tomorrow and so far 1 client (C1) booked for next week and I'm still trying to find a brow model; I'll see if one of the wax models are interested and post on social media again before taking it to my local area and doing a discount for models.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
I am so pleased that it’s going so well for you. Unfortunately I can’t volunteer for brow waxing as I hardly have any 😆 I need brow tinting I think (?) Thanks Skinty
It's definition brows, so I'd get to draw over you, tint, then take any hairs off outside the drawing. Thus creating where your brows should be, filling in the blanks and seeing you again every 4 weeks to repeat the process until your brows are how we want them to look 🤭
Tinting at home is easy though and it would pick up on the fine hairs you don't really see.
Look up microblading as that's probably what you want.
I'm replacing the glass missing glass with plastic as that doesn't vanish!

Having a home visiting round is generally less stressfull i find, as i book my clients further apart, so there no rush. but on the flip side you can earn more in a clinic setting. This is why for me with my foot business i do both!!Also have never had a business acccount, (due to their charges) i just opened a current acc and kept the money sesperate. its now with firsy D1rect and i pay in at the P/O or BACS or i have a portable card reader that goes straight into the bank acc.♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Thanks SH, FP and Skinty
The money was a lovely touch.
It's a free business account. A savings pot with it pays interest and I also get some form of accounting software for free too. Can't pay in cheques, but I could do that via my normal accounts and transfer the money over. I just wanted a total separate account to keep business income / outgoings for ease.
What's the charges for card payment as I think that might be useful!
Hope microblading is viable, if not I'll see what else is around.
I passed my course and instantly opened my diary for bookings. I'll create a nice pricelist and add that to my social media. I do need some form of folding, lightweight bed and will try and get that organised this week as it's payday.
- still no takers for my brow offer so I'll put that on SM but for a reduced cost.
Had a celebratory kebab for tea an I've had my feet up since getting home.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2
