⭐My rambling savings Diary ~⭐2 -
Thanks Skinty, SH and DB and FP (we cross posted)
We all have private gardens, which I know is rare with flats and was another appeal to the property.
Collected my "new" stuff, the car was absolutely rammed. Most was unused / unopened, the used items were barely used.
I've gone through everything:
- bundle of normal polishes donating to local CS; good brands.
- sorted some good gel brands and the lamp to list on 3bay, I need to look up listing costs.
- disposing of some gels and acrylics were very cheap, some acrylics decanted and the chair are going to the tip.
As for what I'm keeping, all based on what I've paid, checked up, seen what they cost or underestimated guess based on similar items = remaining electricals £100, shelving unit £20, display shelves £50, chemicals £50, brushes and tools £100, files, wipes and other disposable items £50, table £60, trolley case £70, practice hand and nails £30, nail art selection £170, then there's one brand of gel polish I do use, acrylics and tools / brushes, table lamp, tupperware, boxes of nails and goodness knows what as my head is as full as the lounge!
I paid £200 for everything 😲
Tomorrow, I'll organise and tidy as we altered the position of my day job desk and I've piled loads on top, under it; every inch of my work area is covered and I need that set up as I am working this week.
As I've now got two trolleys my two gel systems will each have its own case. I'm looking into folding chairs or folding stool with back (padded) and I'll add that to the same case as my desk.
We had Chinese for tea, I've got my feet up having a well deserved rest!
What a great start to the New Year 😀Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Sounds a fantastic result on the kit.
I'd love a decent Chinese - my fave one shut down and not found another I like as much yet.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Best wishes for 2024! Looking forward to hearing more about your plans and financial progress.
Thanks for the reply about your garden. Great to have a flat with a garden.2 -
Thank you SH, Skinty and BD
Organised both systems yesterday into their respective cases and packed away spares. Had a nap and set my day job desk up! I've also got a practice hand attached to it 🤭
Removed the toe nail gel and know how I'll do it differently for removing my finger nail gel.
We had veg and chicken soup last night. I dozed off after eating, woke up and finished reading my one book; the science based full explanations about how all these nail bits work together. Closed a few training pages as they don't cover the local counties I've easy access to.
Got up today and think I've a cold as I can't stop sneezing. Haven't time to be ill as there's still a few more things to organise, have to double check I've everything ready for the course Friday, read / learn more of my manual, I'd like to do a few more nail designs and watch a few videos.
Might go back to bed first 😊Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

Thanks Skinty
I took an anti H before resting.
Got up and did the remaining practice nails, had all my weeks liked up and I'm very pleased with how well I've progressed in such a short pace of time. Had a nap again afterwards.
I'm currently swatting up for my course.
Tomorrow lunch I'll double check I've everything in the case I'm using for my course, after work I'll strip my nails and do more swatting.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Had all my waxing gear arrive today, need to add that to the other items and lash / brow stuff before packing it away.
I'm following a couple of local training places, one has done 50% off an accredited facial course this weekend and I'm booked to attend 😊
- cost £125 and paid from wages.
Just need to secure brows, lashes, all things wax and threading. I'll qualify into two other types of nail systems later in the year and hopefully attend college. That's enough for me to offer a nice range of services.
- I'm squirrelling money away in my pamper account to cover the costs.
Spent an hour getting my kit ready for training tomorrow and don't have one colour!
- Started organising my other kit instead, half way through when tea was ready.
When TomBo wakes up I can finish sorting my kit, have a shower, remove my nail gel and de-stress a bit as I can't be rushing about in the morning!
- I just want to slowly get ready, load the car and go to the course.
I've opened a reg saver but will be funding it from last years. I can focus on topping up my existing RS's and not spreading myself too thin financially.
Can't believe we're only four days in to the New Year 🤭
