Thanks SW
Yesterday I finally planted the sweetcorn and TomBo has started clearing another section. It took me weeks to do half of what he did in a few hours, and he'll finish it this week; only cost me a couple of steak bakes ☺️
Today we picked up slabs and timber for 2nd home. I've just popped down to water the toms, everything outside has natural rain.
Also did the shopping first thing and we're home just after 10am. I needed a nap lunchtime and felt refreshed enough after 90 mins to get up again.
TomBo did all the housework and cooked, but has now decided we're having chippy night. I'll have the rest of the reception food for lunches. Hopefully we'll have cake or at the very least ice cream, preferably both 🤭
- still haven't opened the bottle of red I got us, maybe next weekend.
I've still been logging food / exercise and can carry on my weightloss now.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Great that you were able to do such a MSE wedding. Much more creative and individual than buying it off the peg.

Thank you DIA
As you know, I'm not the kind of person to spend loads as the money can be put to better use elsewhere, I also like a good bargain!
I splashed my dress while having lunch and ended up getting the bottom dirty on a wet path, both times I shrugged and thought 'oh well'. As it is, the dress can go in a normal wash.
I've not yet done the 'if I would have had everything brand new this is what it would have cost' calculation. While some items are easy to find the current equivalent, others are not so easy eg my wedding ring.
- Due to buying nearly everything off 3bay I've also earned n3ctar points 🤗

Thank you SH, Skinty and DIA
Yes, everything was perfectly organised and the ad hoc elements were as hoped, actually better than expected!
I'm really happy, achieved what I wanted and only have to focus on clearing the mortgage 😄
Thought you had sussed the good life reference with our names, although I must credit Ren for coming up with them, I'm aiming to put food on the table I've grown and only needing to work so bills and fun can be covered. Thankfully TomBo shares my dreams and together we can achieve anything.
Since the wedding TomBo is a lot more attentive, doing even more for me, helping at the 2nd home and today came back from the garden with strawberries breakfast and lunchtime; he was so proud of releasing his inner hunter / gatherer side 🤭
I've accepted more hours at work and juggled them so I'm able to do FT over 4 days, which I won't really notice as I've been pretty much doing them anyway, and have wiggle room to flex my days 😀
- waiting on the updated contract and it's about £250 extra after deductions each payday. I'll be on my second highest salary ever.
It's been raining all day, no trip to 2nd home and I've missed my lunchtime walk. Unless it gets really hot in a bit, I won't be doing my evening walk either as the greenhouse plants will be fine.
We're having chicken wraps for tea, mexican style 🤗

Just make sure you get enough breaks and movement in if you are doing compressed hours.
Be kind to yourself. The money sounds really welcome - and it will boost your pension too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
